The Lotus Restaurant & Garden — Restaurant in Agra

Like many other reviewers we(4 people) were taken here by an Agra/Taj Mahal guide. He knew that at some point we wanted dinner but at no point discussed where etc and simply took us here saying "This is where you will have dinner". The driver had left so we basically had no choice but to stay. Service was pleasant - which was why they have the 1 star - up until the bill time. We had a sharing platter which was recommended by the staff. The bill was over 6000 rupees and they wanted us to leave a 5 star review straight away, even suggesting they could write it for us, but we refused. Within 12 hours, the 3 of us that ate the chicken were violently ill (I won't describe it but you can guess). The 1 person that didn't eat chicken was fine and this was the only place we had eaten in about 18 hours so the maths speak for themselves. I tried to raise it with our guide the next day but he dismissed it as not possible. Visited this restaurant on a weekday 20/12 at 4:30pm after going to red fort, I ordered chicken choupsy, Staff wasn't very welcoming, they were busy in catering to foreign customers, chicken tasted very stale, food wasn't hot, quality of fried noodles was very poor, even the tables were stinking, I will not comment about other dishes as I did not try them but choupsey was a huge dissapointment, I even had stomach pain and diarrhea after I returned home, washrooms weren't well kept, staff behaviour wasn't great either and they kept asking for tips, wouldn't visit or recommend this place. DONT GO TO THIS PLACE, TRUSTING FAKE REVIEWS. I've mentioned date and time since the staff responds to negative reviews asking for the same, come up with a better reply since no action is going to be taken....

Worst experience, totally pathetic and illiterate staff.. we ordered veg paneer chilly and after taking a bite we realised it's a non veg item which was non veg chicken chilly. How irresponsible and unprofessional they are with thier work how someone can do this. After complaining they simply said sir mai change kar deta hu and when owner came he simply went in the kitchen and never came back. It was like nothing happened at all it was horrific experience for our family since we are vegetarians. Even the others dishes was pathetic there was no taste at all.. I would never recommend this restaurant at all to anyone. With such unprofessional act going forward I will make sure I go to veg restaurant only. We have to give minimum 1 star otherwise I would never click on that...
