A good and comparatively affordable place for north Indian food. Comparatively affordable, because rest of the places very have prices which are at par with some high end restaurants in rest of the country. The person on the counter, however, needs to be a bit polite. You cannot tell the customer that a dish takes half an hour, if he/she has already waited for 20 minutes without any clue about what's happening with their order. Since I visited at around 8:30pm, supposedly midnight by the standards here, the restaurant was pretty much empty, still it took a good 45-50 minutes to get food and be done with it. I am guessing the restaurant would be pretty busy during day, and there's not much seating capacity available here, (probably 16-20 people can be accommodated) so you might need to wait if you're in here for a dine-in during rush hours. The food I ordered was good. If you're a north Indian in port Blair and in this part of the island, and craving north Indian food, this is a place you could consider. The blend of spiciness, salt, and different masalas was perfect for my liking, which made the dishes perfect for the price. Definitely a must try for north Indian/Rajasthani food like dal...

Rajasthani Dhaba at Golghar Decent Food but Disappointing Service.

If you’re looking for a simple yet satisfying vegetarian meal with roti and dal, this place might seem like a good option at first. The food, especially the rotis made by the lady in the kitchen, has a homely touch that reminds you of homemade meals. However, the overall experience is likely to leave you disappointed due to the restaurant’s slow and unprofessional service.

The staff behaves as if they are doing you a favor by serving the food, and their attitude is far from welcoming. While the rotis are excellent, the way they serve the vegetables—almost as if they are made of gold—makes the experience frustrating. The portions are meager, and getting a second serving feels like an uphill battle.

If you don’t mind waiting and dealing with indifferent service, you might enjoy the food once. But for most people, one visit will probably be enough, as the poor service overshadows the decent...

Regrettably, my recent dining experience at this restaurant left much to be desired. From the moment of arrival, it was evident that the service was lacking in attentiveness and efficiency. The waitstaff seemed disinterested and inattentive, resulting in prolonged waiting times and frustration among patrons.
