We had visited for dinner around 6.30pm. Upon arrival, we had to go and talk to the serving staff to arrange a table for 6 of us, in the terrace area, then he tells us that area accessible only by reservations. So we sat in the indoor area. This area doesn't have any AC or fan. After finishing her dinner my wife was sitting on an empty table outside with my children to get some air and waiting for the rest of us to finish our dinner. One of their staff told her not to sit there because it was reserved, and she was asked very rudely to vacate the table. While there were many empty tables in the so called 'reserved area'. So I asked their manager Mr. Subbaiah what's wrong if she sits there for a while. He was very arrogant too. He said what if you don't vacate the table when another customer comes. How stupid? He next asked me if I was staying in their hotel. What does this have to do with my stay? So basically he wanted to say you can get good service only if you are staying at their hotel. His other statement was I should have reserved the table before visiting. He focused on how irresponsible I was for not reserving a table. Mr. Subbaiah is prime example of how a Incompetent manager can spoil your experience at a rather decent restaurant. We left the restaurant without finishing our dinner And the table where my wife was sitting was empty till we left. I will not recommend visiting...
Read moreThe restaurant is a popular joint and simply stating the name of the restaurant to any cab/ auto will be sufficient for the taxi to take you there.
The restaurant is however located quite a distance from the main road and to reach it, one has to meander through several quiet and dark alleys. The building stands on a narrow road and while there is limited space for parking, it didn't seem to be any trouble since the visitors were simply parked along the road.
The ambience of the restaurant is quite upbeat. The music and the live performances lift your spirits as soon as you enter the open and well decorated premise of the restaurant. The wide and low chairs and tables seem perfect to set you up for a relaxed evening and the lighting is just on point- neither too dark to make it shady nor too bright to spoil the thrill of night time on a roof top.
The service was extremely courteous and the food was delectable. We enjoyed the fish cooked in wine, the reshmi kebab (which I personally recommend for a try) and the other dishes we ordered.
However, if you have reached the restaurant by taxi, it is difficult to find a ride back. It is recommended to make prior arrangements.
All in all, it was a pleasant experience and I will most likely visit the place...

I visited SeaShell Port Blair's bar, having heard great things about it from my stay at their Coral Cove property. Unfortunately, my experience was marred by poor service and logistical issues. Upon arrival, the F&B Service Steward insisted we sit in a cramped space despite vacant tables elsewhere. When I expressed my displeasure, another staff member intervened and offered a better option (near to the corner from where one could enjoy live music).
However, things only got worse. We discovered the bar had no vegetarian dinner options (even while it was there in the Amaya restaurant Menu), and when ordering, were told we'd need to go to the restaurant downstairs for main courses. We ended up enjoying exceptional food at the basement restaurant, thanks to a talented chef who delivered outstanding dishes with a perfect balance of aroma and taste.
While the food was great, the initial experience was disappointing. Perhaps a clearer distinction between the bar and restaurant offerings would improve things. For now, I'd recommend heading straight to the basement restaurant for a memorable meal, including vegetarian and non-vegetarian...
