The food is good, but the service is literally just slooowwwwwwww, means it's even slower than my typing speed. So today we have entered the restaurant at 19:00 Hrs, and ordered our food right away, which was - a grilled fish and some beverages, we have received our order after 20:30 Hrs. The worst case here is the servers , who acted so bzy but lacked some basic etiquettes, that is serving water at the table. Because of the slow order delivery speed, we have then ordered our main course before even we received our starters and beverage, coz if we would have done some more late, the food might got delivered after 23:00Hrs.
Yes the food was good, I will not say as great, but just good- above average but not great.
The cost of breezer in my personal opinion is way too much, i.e., the printed price is of 80/- Rs, but they charged 200/-, which is more than double of its actual price . The grilled fish was ok, but I felt it was fried rather than charcoal grilled, may be there might be some miscommunication between our serving staff and the chef . Fried rice were just below average. The chicken in Manchurian sauce lacks the kicks and yes did lack flavour as well, The prawn in garlic sauce was the only dish which tasted good today , and was better compared to all the other items which we ordered today .
Next : When we were sitting there , even 2 couples came , sat for few minutes, observed that the service is quite slow, and left. Even we were about to leave, once we got bored as it was more than a hour and our order is not yet processed and we were sitting with some empty beer glasses which the serving staff have served us when we sat of the table. So we just waited .
The funny thing was - we encounter a cockroach there, which unfortunately I had to throw it out of the table, as it was crawling at our table .
So, here are few things I guess the restaurant can do better or say adapt , those are - Better cleanliness Better and trained servering staffs Train the chefs and the serving staffs to work in coordination and act accordingly . Should hire some more serving staff.
It's not like all the points are negative, there are some good points as well, those are - The ambience, which is quite good and the open terrace dining is really soothing and heartwarming. Food quality and taste can be better , but it's ok .
One last suggestion which you guys can do is on the menu, especially on the beverage section, where by mistake or by knowing you guys have mentioned Caramel custard and Mango melba there .. which was quite funny when we were going through it, as these are desserts not beverages...
So kindly do...
Read moreI recently dined at the New Light House Restaurant and had an incredible experience. This place is a seafood lover's paradise, with a fantastic selection of fresh sea delicacies. The restaurant's reputation for its seafood dishes is well-deserved, and I was thoroughly impressed with the variety they offered.
The ground floor is perfect for intimate family gatherings or mini parties. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, making it an ideal setting for enjoying a meal with loved ones. The fusion of North Indian and Chinese cuisine on their menu was a delightful surprise, offering something for everyone.
One of the standout features is the wide range of food options available at a nominal cost for two or more people. This affordability without compromising on quality is truly commendable. Moving upstairs to the first floor, the availability of chilled beer to complement the diverse menu was a refreshing touch.
The highlight of my visit was the opportunity to select fresh seafood items like lobster, tiger prawns, and regular prawns, and have them prepared to order. This personalized touch allowed me to enjoy the flavors of the sea in the way I preferred. The skilled chefs did an outstanding job in bringing out the best in these dishes.
Overall, I highly recommend the New Light House Restaurant to anyone looking for a seafood feast with a mix of North Indian and Chinese flavors. The comfortable environment, great food variety, reasonable prices, and attentive staff make it a must-visit dining destination. Whether you're planning a family get-together or simply craving a memorable meal, this restaurant certainly delivers on...
Read moreA restaurant that seemed complacent with very lacklustre tasting Seafood preparations. Maybe because they know that they have a captive customer base in tourists who as it is have limited options, they feel like they can dictate the terms.

P.S. - This review is limited to my single visit experience when me and my family only ordered a few items, including: Off the menu fresh Lobster (in Chili Garlic preparation) Off the menu Tiger Prawn (in Onion Fry preparation) Fish Onion Fry (from the menu itself)
This restaurant had the typical Seafood menu at first glance. And with visibly good fresh, off the menu seafood options as well, it all seemed like a decent recipe for a good dine-in place.
However all expectations began to get diluted as soon as the Fish Onion Fry came, with the pieces being too dry. The prawn we had ordered came well cooked but with no marination with lemon chili or for that matter any taste of its own, just stir-fried in the bland characterless Onion fry paste. A similar story ensued with the lobster with the chili garlic preparation overpowering every taste and with no marination in anything.
Over-all, we had to cut our dinner short to grab food from a different place as the oils and the weird preparation had started giving me abdominal discomfort by the end of our meal. Given that they did charge exorbitantly for just the single huge Tiger Prawn and the Lobster with just the two items totalling around Rs 1900, I'd say the value for money was grossly absent. A big no-go for me when considering future...
