I recently visited Barbeque Nation to try out their GrillSe campaign, expecting a great buffet experience. However, it turned out to be a complete disappointment. Despite boasting 30+ items, none of them were appetizing enough for a second serving. This campaign seems designed to attract first-time buffet diners who are unaware of how a buffet system should work, ultimately tricking customers into a subpar experience.
Misleading Concept – Where’s the Barbeque? Not a true barbeque experience – There’s no grill at your table, just pre-cooked items being served. This completely defeats the purpose of the "barbeque" theme.
False advertising – The name GrillSe suggests grilling, but there is no grill in sight. These items could have just been served as part of the regular buffet instead of pretending they were something special.
Bait-and-switch menu – The menu shown during booking was different from what was actually served. There was no mention anywhere that for ₹449, we wouldn’t get the complete BBQ experience. Had this been disclosed, I would have opted out and chosen the regular buffet instead.
No choice to upgrade – There was no option to pay extra and opt for the regular buffet, making it feel like they deliberately forced customers into this inferior experience.
Food Quality – Below Average at Best Schezwan Wings – Instead of full wings, they serve cut-up pieces, making it seem like they’re stretching the portions.
Coastal Fish – Had a terrible smell, making it impossible to take another bite.
Chettinad Chicken – Just reused chicken tikka dunked in gravy. No effort in creating authentic flavors.
White Rice – Hard, dry, and contained leftover, dried-up grains that stuck to the teeth.
Paneer – Tasteless, cold, and felt like it was barely warmed over a flame before serving.
Overall Experience – A Waste of Money This was one of the worst buffet experiences I’ve had. The food lacked freshness and quality, and the restaurant seemed disinterested in customer satisfaction. It feels like they’re just trying to make quick money before shutting down. The GrillSe campaign is nothing but a cash-grab with misleading promotions.
Had they been transparent about what was included in the ₹449 offer, I would have gladly paid the regular price instead. But the lack of clarity and absence of an option to upgrade makes this a complete scam.
Would I recommend Barbeque Nation’s GrillSe? Absolutely not. If you’re looking for real barbeque and a proper buffet experience,...
Read moreWe visited Barbeque Nation at NVR Central, Nellore, on June 11th with a group of 13 family members. While we received a warm welcome at the entrance, the service experience after being seated was extremely disappointing.
Despite repeated requests, no staff approached us for serving starters. Every time we asked, the response was, “5 minutes, sir,” but no one followed through. This lack of attention and poor service was not only frustrating but also quite embarrassing for me, as I was the one who suggested this place to my family based on my good experiences at your Hyderabad branches.
The main course was even more poorly managed. Items were not properly maintained or refilled. For example, the biryani had no chicken pieces, and many displayed items were either empty or not replenished despite repeated follow-ups. The staff seemed overwhelmed or uninterested, and there was no proper response to our concerns.
This experience left our entire family highly dissatisfied. We expected much better from a brand like Barbeque Nation. In Hyderabad, the branches consistently provide excellent hospitality and service – a standard that was completely missing here.
To make matters worse, after our disappointing meal, the staff asked us for positive feedback and seemed to be pleading for it. We believe genuine service earns genuine appreciation. Begging for good reviews doesn’t reflect well on the brand and makes the feedback system unreliable – many reviews appear to be driven by offers or discounts, not real experiences.
If this level of service continues, it could seriously affect the restaurant’s reputation. We urge the management to take this feedback seriously and implement immediate improvements. Good food and respectful service are the basics, not optional.
We are not creating a scene or refusing to pay the bill despite the experience – but we will not return, and we cannot recommend this...
Read moreIf you're "NOT" in the mood for a little adventure and a lot of flavor, then you might want to check out this restaurant. Now, let's get into the details.
When it comes to the menu, there are a few limitations. They only offer one non-veg soup, and the veg section is a bit lacking in soup options. Even the non-veg live counters have fewer choices than some of the bigger BBQ spots in Chennai, Hyderabad, and Bangalore. But don't let that discourage you. You might pay the same amount, but what they lack in variety they make up for in other areas.
Speaking of taste, the dessert section is where it's at. It's simply amazing. However, some of the other dishes like panner butter masala and kadai veg were a bit lackluster. They were missing that extra oomph that would make them stand out. And, the chicken starters, prawn, and fish dishes were mostly covered in the same sauce, which tasted a bit repetitive.
On the bright side, the service is top-notch. I'd give them a 4.5/5 rating for that alone.
All in all, it's a decent spot with some areas for improvement. Hopefully, the management will take note and make some changes to the menu and...
