Visited Kalahasti after a long time. I’m a foodie from Hyderabad and usually explore local restaurants wherever I go. Based on the Google reviews, I tried the much-hyped Kanishka Restaurant.

Asked them what's special — they said confidently: "Sir, try our Mughlai Biryani!" Took a parcel for ₹320 and returned home excited.

Opened the box… and surprise! It was just chicken fried rice made using biryani rice. No Mughlai flavor, no richness, no aroma. It felt like a creative experiment gone wrong.

I even called the restaurant and spoke to the manager. He recognized my order and casually told me — 👉 “Sir, that’s how we make Mughlai Biryani here.”

Wow. Flabbergasted. I wasn’t expecting Hyderabadi biryani, but didn’t expect to be served glorified fried rice either. Definitely...

On 21/10/2020i went to this hotel at 12noon my parcel order worth of 1250. I used my card the billing amount in the card 1590 instand of 1250. Iam from chennai if i have not noticed by bill amount i have losed 350. Iam my compliant she refund the excess amount. After we went some distance one birayani pocket is missing next day i called over phone from chennai. The manger and lady in the counter not answer properly. Why posting this f the owner of the hotel see this review Ihope he will take nessaray action against employees. Every time i went to kalahasthi i have my food this hotel. I also recommend my friends. But this kind of attitude will spoil the reputation...

had a highly disappointing experience at Hotel Kanishka's restaurant on May 4, 2025. The management has an absurd policy of only allowing groups of 6 or more to dine in. My group of 4 was denied service, and we were bluntly told we couldn’t be served because we didn’t meet their minimum group size requirement. To make matters worse, I noticed another group of 4 North Indian guests being turned away for the same reason. This discriminatory and illogical policy ruined our evening, and the staff’s attitude was unprofessional. I strongly recommend avoiding this restaurant until they revise their unfair practices.
