A Disappointing Experience at Pantulayya Mess, Ongole

One fine day, I was travelling from Nellore to Vijayawada. As it was almost lunchtime and I was nearing Ongole, I called a colleague for suggestions on where to have a good meal. Without hesitation, he recommended Pantulayya Mess, claiming it to be one of the best and most famous places in Ongole.

With high expectations, I made my way there. As expected from a popular eatery, the place was crowded. I bought a meal token and managed to find a place to sit. After nearly half an hour, the waiters began serving meals on banana leaves — a traditional and appealing touch.

However, to my surprise and disappointment, the actual experience was far from what I had been told. Not a single item served was up to the mark. The quality of the food was poor, and it felt like they had completely compromised on taste, hygiene, and overall customer experience. The service was equally unsatisfactory — the staff was indifferent and lacked basic courtesy.

What shocked me more was that they were serving meals outside the premises due to the crowd — clearly prioritising quantity over quality.
