Aakhol Ghar — Restaurant in Assam

I am not a regular customer of this place but I am the most loyal customer because whenever I had to have lunch outside home in Guwahati, no other hotel/restaurant replaces Akhol Ghar.

I have been eating at this place since when it was first opened and has never had any sort of stomach problems as some reviewers has put their negative reviews. Might have happened by accident or those reviewers are fake or they are hotel/restaurant owners who are jealous of Akhol Ghar run by an indigenous Assamese guy.

The more I have lunch at this place, the more I am filled with gratitude towards this place and it's owner. You will never feel that they are serving food for money. On the contrary, when you have food there you will experience the feeling of attending a wedding reception or bhuj. I can bet that you would never have to request for a refill, the waiters would themselves come and offer refills atleast twice for every item they serve during the entire time until you finish you plate and step out to have your hands washed.

The reviewers with negative reviews are either fake or their taste is of some other kind as Ethnic Assamese thali is like this only.

Lastly, a suggestion to the owner of this place. You have already enlarged your Akhol Ghar from what it was once when you opened it but the demand of time is that you further enlarge the lunch area and increase sitting capacity because after 1'O clock people had to stand in Bee Line to have lunch at your place.

This place is really really awesome! I mean the owner's obsession with customer satisfaction is of different level. Not a single person who goes in there comes out unsatisfied. The service they provide and the good they serve, is simply awesome! I personally felt this actually is homely food away from home! Even the staff here enjoy feeding you! The owner is next to God for those service men, bachelor job holders, students and others! Even the price is fair. All in all, total satisfaction. Too good.. no words. Excellent customer service. Fastest service ever. Veg thali now costs 60₹. Can pay via UPI also. Cold bottled water also available at extra price. Bhutjolokia Chutney is my favourite here. Location is good. Nearby Nemcare/ GMCH / Bhangagarh Bus stand. If you are coming via foot be prepared to walk a bit. But this place is worth it. During peak time 5 mins waiting can be there.
