Maar Akhol — Restaurant in Assam

Today, my friends and I had lunch at a dhaba called "Maar Akhol," situated in front of Ranghar, Shivasagar. We, a group of nine friends from Baihata Chariali came here to sightsee around Shivasagaar, ordered three plates of pork curry and one plate of pork dry fry, priced at 400 rupees per plate in this Dhaba itself. To our dismay, the dishes contained fermented bamboo shoot, which we detested due to its overpowering smell. Initially, we attempted to return one plate of pork curry, but the establishment refused to accept it, and we preferred to avoid confrontation. Consequently, we settled the matter by paying the entire bill, which totaled around 2300 rupees.

As responsible owners, they should have disclosed that the dishes contained fermented pork bamboo shoot . So, we would have opted for different dishes. However, despite our inquiries, they misled us about the presence of fermented bamboo shoot in the dishes. The unpleasant odor of the bamboo shoot ruined our dining experience, and as customers, we simply wanted to convey our dissatisfaction with the inclusion of what we believed to be fermented bamboo shoot.

Should we have gotten atleast some discount/ Should they have accepted that it was their fault.

Today, my family and I visited "Maar Akhol," located right in front of the Rang Ghar in Sivasagar. While the food there used to be good earlier, but today’s experience was disappointing. The quality and hygiene of the food have significantly declined, and what was even more shocking was the rude and unprofessional behavior of the staff. Basic courtesy, like saying "sorry," seemed completely foreign to them. Now I understand why fewer people are choosing to dine at "Maar Akhol". They’ve skipped “basic manners” entirely. I think if I had heard a single “sorry,” I would've fainted on the spot🤷🏽‍♀️👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎 will suggest everyone not to visit because their behaviours will turn your good mood...

Worst experience. Totally not worth a penny, more than 4 customers leave their place bcz of their rude behaviour infront of me . They don't deserve even 1 star rating but we don't have 0 star rating that's why i have to rate them atleast one star. But the food i had and the experience is worst. You guys should eat over a roadside food stall but not here . I was waiting for my food over half an hour and got served the worst quality food ....
