I give 5-stars to The Zabrang Hotel and Restaurant, Betkuchi near I.S.B.T., NH-37.
Last Sunday I went with my husband and sister-in-law for lunch. The place is spacious (good enough to maintain social distance), clean and the USP of the resto is its food and the friendly staff.
You get excellent pork (as expressed by my husband) and equally good fish too. It also caters to vegetarians.
If you are on NH-37 between Jalukbari to Khanapara stretch and you long to satiate your tongue and belly, then Zabrang is one sure stop. Initially we were reluctant to enter it as we saw Bodo cuisine written at the entrance and assumed that it will only serve pork but we were mistaken.
The prices are affordable. And what more could you ask when the taste buds agree to your tongue. There is parking space too.
The only suggestion to Zabrang is that the gent's loo right next to the parking lot is an eye-sore for a women and hence could be shifted to the rear. The place it is currently located in does not go too well with the food and the ambience Zabrang offers.
I have read the other reviews too and would like to disagree to one particularly which mentions that the prices are on the higher side. Try the delicacies across the highway a few metres away. Perhaps you will eat your words later.
I intend to visit the place soon, this time with my colleagues/ friends.
Best, Zabrang. May you continue to serve excellent food...
Read moreWorst experience from every angle. They served us the worst-tasting baby corn we’ve ever had. Moreover, we were disrespected in several ways. A lady, presumably the wife of the owner, was also extremely rude and misbehaved with us. I strongly urge everyone not to visit this restaurant. I will also write about this incident on 'X' and report it to the Commissionerate of Food & Drugs Administration (FDA), Assam, to investigate the food safety and hygiene standards of this establishment.
We ordered baby corn (which was terrible — I’m attaching photos that clearly show the poor quality), Butter Paneer Masala, and Chicken Bharta. Both dishes were filled with nothing but greasy, tasteless masala. We were so disappointed that we packed the food and threw it in the dustbin.
Please avoid visiting this restaurant. The owner and the staff are extremely rude and have no sense of customer service. I will also request the Food Authority of Assam to conduct a proper inspection of the restaurant’s food safety and hygiene practices. The owner, Krishna Boro (Rangia), is running the place with a dishonest mentality — cheating and looting customers. We even returned the baby corn due to its terrible quality, yet they charged us for it. It's shocking that a restaurant like 'The Zabrang' continues to operate despite such unethical and...
Read moreWaiters really need to change their attitude towards customers. They didn't even care to clear the table used by last customers, had to ask them several times. Even the owners don't look after customers. I had to go to the reception while eating and ask the owners for extra rice. Even other customers had to do the same. And talking about the food, it's somewhere around "OK" but only if you like insects in your food.
This restaurant had the potential to be a good one but incompetent owners...
