I recently visited Akram's Biryani, a place well-known in town for its namesake dish. Here's a rundown of my experience.
First, the biryani itself. While the flavor was pleasant, I felt it could be improved to reach a truly outstanding level. The spices and aroma were there, but there was something missing that kept it from being extraordinary. It didn’t taste bad by any means, but there is certainly room for enhancement.
Moreover, considering the price, the portion size was slightly disappointing. Given the cost, I expected a bit more on my plate. Increasing the quantity would definitely make it feel like a better value for money.
The ambience of Akram's Biryani is decent. The setting is comfortable and welcoming, though nothing particularly remarkable. It's a nice enough place to sit and enjoy a meal, but it doesn't stand out in any significant way.
What really deserves mention, however, is the service. The staff at Akram's Biryani are attentive and friendly, making sure that guests feel welcomed and taken care of. Their promptness and politeness added a positive note to the overall dining experience.
In summary, while the biryani at Akram's could use some fine-tuning in both taste and quantity to match the price, the excellent service helps elevate the visit. With a few tweaks, Akram's Biryani has the potential to become a standout spot for...
Read moreI recently visited Akram's Biriyani and Chicken Chap in Burdwan, and I must say, it was an incredible culinary experience! The moment I walked in, the aroma of freshly cooked biriyani and chicken chap filled the air, making my mouth water in anticipation.
I decided to try their signature chicken biriyani, and it did not disappoint. The rice was perfectly cooked, fluffy, and infused with a rich blend of spices that tantalized my taste buds. The chicken was tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection, complementing the biriyani beautifully. The portion size was generous, and I found myself savoring every bite.
The chicken chap was equally delightful. The marination was spot on, and the flavors were deep and satisfying. The chap was cooked just right – crispy on the outside and succulent on the inside. It paired wonderfully with the biriyani, creating a harmonious balance of textures and flavors.
The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and inviting, with friendly staff who made sure I had a pleasant dining experience. The service was prompt, and the presentation of the food was appetizing.
Overall, Akram's Biriyani and Chicken Chap is a must-visit for anyone in Burdwan looking for authentic and delicious Indian cuisine. Whether you're a biriyani lover or a fan of chicken chap, this place has something special to offer. I'll definitely be coming...
Read moreRight now their mutton biryani is my most fav in town. (Biryaniwala holds the second place)
Absolutely right balance of flavours, fat, aroma and moisture. A large mutton piece, very tender and juicy, a perfect biryani aloo, a whole egg and enough rice for 1 person.
The biryani is almost comparable to the best authentic kolkata biryani joints, although may fall short of some flavours compared to India Restaurant, Royal India, Kareems (not Karims)... Nevertheless in bwn, you are getting this bang for the buck biryani... Much much better than Karim's. Great!!
Chicken Tikka Butter masala was also at par with expectations set by authentic flavours.... Would have appreciated a little less oil though.
I had also tried their Mutton chap on the opening day and was extremely disappointed at the hard chewy meat, no flavours and excess oil. That time the biryani was just average and not worth the price at all... Didn't even bother to give a review.
They have now definitely improved. Not sure about the mutton chaap but biryani and tikka masala this time was very...
