1957 Restaurant Review
Atmosphere and Ambiance
The moment you step into 1957, you’re transported to a bygone era. The restaurant exudes vintage charm, with its retro decor, wooden paneling, and sepia-toned photographs. The soft jazz playing in the background adds to the nostalgic vibe. The cozy booths and dim lighting create an intimate setting, perfect for a leisurely meal.
Service
The service at 1957 is attentive and courteous. The staff is well-trained and knowledgeable about the menu. They strike a balance between being friendly and professional. However, during peak hours, the wait times can be a tad long.
Food Quality and Variety
1957 offers a mix of classic Indian and continental dishes. The menu caters to diverse palates, from vegetarians to meat lovers. The food quality is generally good, with fresh ingredients and well-balanced flavors. The Kerala fried chicken and mushroom toast are standout items. However, some dishes lack consistency, and occasionally, the seasoning can be hit or miss.
Presentation and Portion Sizes
The presentation of dishes is elegant, especially the desserts. Each plate is a work of art, with attention to detail. However, portion sizes vary. While some dishes are generously portioned, others might leave you wanting more. It’s advisable to ask your server about portion sizes before ordering.
Cleanliness and Hygiene
1957 maintains a clean and hygienic environment. The tables are promptly cleared, and the cutlery is spotless. The vintage decor adds character, but occasionally, you might notice signs of wear and tear.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Strengths:
Nostalgic ambiance Friendly service Unique menu offerings Memorable desserts Weaknesses: Inconsistent seasoning Occasional wait times Some dishes lack portion balance Overall Recommendation 1957 is a delightful experience for those seeking a trip down memory lane. If you appreciate history, cozy settings, and a mix of Indian and continental flavors, give it a try. However, manage your expectations regarding portion sizes and seasoning. I recommend it for a special occasion or a relaxed evening out.
Remember that individual experiences may vary, so it’s essential to visit and form your own opinion. Enjoy your dining adventure...

I took my family to this restaurant considering the good food and service I got to eat in 1947 malleshwaram, the food was not that great but manageable I was surprised as iv been to 1947 many times in other locations and 2nd time in the one located in West of chord road. The biggest scam I faced was after we finished the meal they asked for the desert and started suggesting only the aftermost expensive ones in the menu after having less than normal food we were not interested; however, we did end up ordering whatever they suggested as the best without asking for a menu card. My stupidity. They got Rabdi n ice cream which was melted and pathetic and we made hell hel of money n the bill shot up. I was wondering why on Earth a restaurant suggest something bfr even giving the menu and made us wait n gave melted n because they had already served we dint say anything but it was horrible and after asking why offered dessert if it was not ready they gave a lame reason. Everyone left the dessert but the surprise was when we got the bill n it shot up high only bcz of the sick dessert which they fooled us with. It was a complete rip off. Hopefully not the same chef and staffs are still thr n things have changed in this location but I will never be ever...
Read moreWe all friends went there for general get together. The experience was awesome. Decor and ambience: Its too good. One side of the wall is decorated with moghal architecture and other side with patriotic paintings and arts. Lighting is really romantic. Air conditioning is moderate just like 5 Star hotel. Service: it was warm and prompt service. Waiter understood clearly about our need and suggested food very well. He also estimated our capacity and avoided wastage of food. That was totally different experience. Restaurant People handled everything so professionally that we didn't found any mistake to point out. Food: Quality of food was heavenly. Bhendi (Ladies-finger) was fried so accurately that it's taste lasted for hours. Even Dal Makhani was too good. Every item including Daniya Kalimirch Shorba, Paneera Kofta, Stuffed Kulcha, butter naan, tawa biriyaani were good. We ate till our stomach says strong no. Pricing: Considering above experience I must say pricing was decent. Neither costly nor cheap. For Dinner of 6 members it costs 1900. It's a pretty good deal. Things to note before planning there: Plenty of parking space is available in the service road. But still it will fill up very quickly on peak hours. Especially on Sunday. It's better to reserve your seat at least 5 hours prior.
Final verdict: Good ambience, better...
