Bangalore Central Cafe – Where Dosas Dream Big and Parking Dreams Die
Ah, Bangalore Central Cafe. A place where dosas come to live their best oily lives, and you come to question your life choices. The moment you walk in, you're hit with the aroma of ghee, oil, and existential dread as you realize this is no ordinary cafe – this is a battlefield of crispy delights and self-service chaos.
First up, the Plain Ghee Roast. It arrives on your plate like it owns the place – golden, crispy, and dripping in enough ghee to make your arteries file for early retirement. It's delicious, indulgent, and also a ticking time bomb for your cholesterol. But hey, at least you'll go down happy.
Then there’s the Neer Dosa, the delicate little snowflake of the menu. It’s light, airy, and paired with a coconut chutney that’s oddly sweet, like someone accidentally spilled sugar in it and decided, “Yeah, this works.” And how could we forget Ragi Dosa? It’s hearty, earthy, and so drenched in oil that you’ll wonder if it’s moonlighting as a lubricant tester.
Of course, not everything here is a triumph. The Uzhunnu Vada is the culinary equivalent of a ghosted Tinder match – cold, lifeless, and full of regret. At ₹35, it’s overpriced and underwhelming, like buying an iPhone case for a Nokia 3310. And then there’s Gobi Chilly, which is about as spicy as your uncle’s WhatsApp forwards and twice as disappointing.
The drinks? The coffee is strong enough to slap you awake, which you’ll need after dealing with the parking situation. The tea, bless its heart, tries to impress but ends up being the sad sidekick no one asked for. Meanwhile, the chutneys quietly hold the fort – dependable, understated, and the only reason some of these dishes are even edible.
And oh, the parking. If you’ve got a two-wheeler, congratulations – you’ve won the lottery. But if you’re in a car, prepare for a treasure hunt that ends with you circling the block like a desperate vulture, eyeing every inch of free space.
In conclusion, Bangalore Central Cafe is a lot like life – messy, chaotic, and full of questionable decisions. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and you’ll probably leave with oil stains on your soul. But let’s be real, you’ll come back, because for all its flaws, those dosas? They’re worth...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Bengaluru Central Cafe in Yelahanka New Town, and it was an experience worth sharing. The moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and inviting ambiance that perfectly set the stage for the culinary journey ahead. The menu at Bengaluru Central Cafe is impressively diverse, offering a wide array of dishes from South Indian, North Indian, Chinese, to an assortment of snacks and chaats. Each dish I tried was a testament to the cafe's commitment to authentic taste and wonderful flavors. The South Indian dishes, in particular, were outstanding. The dosas were crispy and golden, paired perfectly with the rich and flavorful sambar and chutneys. The North Indian cuisine did not disappoint either, with hearty curries and fresh naan that transported me straight to the heart of Punjab. What truly stood out to me was the Chinese food. Often, restaurants offering such a variety struggle to perfect every cuisine, but Bengaluru Central Cafe nailed it. The noodles were cooked to perfection, and the flavors were just right, not too overpowering but delightfully satisfying. The snacks and chaats were the icing on the cake. The pani puri and bhel puri were fresh and tangy, bursting with flavors that left me craving more. It's clear that the chefs here put a lot of thought and effort into every dish, ensuring a memorable dining experience.Overall, Bengaluru Central Cafe in Yelahanka New Town is a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in a variety of authentic and delicious cuisines. The quality of the food, combined with the friendly service and cozy atmosphere, makes it a standout spot in the area. I can't wait to return and explore more of their...

10th May'24 : Tried again on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya tritiya and still the experience is good enough ( ratings increased ) although paper masala dosa need improvement for sure. It needs to be papery and soft which was not the case today but happy with south Indian meals and paneer butter masala and kulcha .
Msg to management: Parcel charges should be waived off for orders above a few hundred bucks ( 300/400 may be ) .
10/04/24 tried mini tiffin @ 49 bucks. Only Idli and khara bath is good rest all items ( vada , dosa , upma & kesri bath ) are too much oily and hence this mini tiffin needs to be improved for sure . Otherwise this is a health hazard.
Tried it 1st time today ( 01/04/2024 ) and our experience wasn't bad .
Idli vade @ 60 bucks , good only . KA sweet Sambar recipe needs improvement as usual . Idli was soft , the vada was crispy and the chutney was good . Puri is good too . Kurma sagu needs slight improvement. Aloo curry they can offer along with Puri , which always goes well with puri .
Some fine day will try their mini tiffin and will share my review here. Available only b/w 6-9 am .
Plenty of parking available at the Road side .
The washroom hygiene factor is well considered.
The crew is cordial on our 1st visit .
