This place is ideal for people like myself who don't like spending a lot for lunch. The place inside is well-maintained and the place of dining is also very hygienic. I didn't feel like they had used soda in their dishes which would otherwise be noticeable immediately.
If you 're familiar with lunch/dinner in a typical South Indian family function, you'll be familiar with the cuisine here.
Coming the menu, you'll get the standard South Indian starters(Sadly only one that day) along with what we call locally as ಪಾಯಸ. And they serve one curry for the Chapathi that you can opt for. The rice is served with ಸಾರು(Rasam), ಹುಳಿ(Sambhar) and ತಂಬುಳಿ(A great local dish usually made with curds/buttermilk). Everything is served on plantain leaves.
For about 60-100 INR/Head(depending on your choice of meals), you can have a great afternoon experience here. Again, the prices are highly economical and the attitude of the staff are also excellent. They'll wait for you to finish before your second serving. I would definitely visit again.
Pro tip: If you visit on weekends, you'll get to enjoy Obbattu and Bhajji which is otherwise unavailable...
Read moreOrdered 2 full meals in Swiggy from this restaurant: 3 items missing - 2 chappathi(from one meals) + sagu Food quality was abbysmal - sambar was too sweet and diluted, Tambuli - Did not have proper flavour(was too bland and prepared with inadequate amount of salt). Food packaging was horrible. A lot of packets were spilt on arrival. Rasam was packed in a different way that frustrated me and I had to cut it open. Restaurants like this spoil the image of local cuisine. None of the food items had the right amount of salt, spice and tanginess. On the contrary, the only thing I found up to the mark was Roti.(But sadly their best item in one of the two meals was missed in the order) But would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. If you cannot serve your Swiggy(Online in general) customers properly then why list your name in the Applications. Lucky I ordered from Swiggy, they understood my predicament and gave me a full refund. But will never...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Bhattara Bhojana, and it was a truly authentic experience. I opted for the regular meal, which is served on a banana leaf in the traditional style, making the whole experience feel even more special. The restaurant offers a selection of Uttara Kannada-style dishes, bringing a delightful taste of the region to your plate.
The flavors are incredibly authentic, with each dish packed with rich, well-balanced spices. My personal favorites were the Thambuli and Rasam. Both dishes were perfectly cooked — the Thambuli was refreshingly cool with a subtle blend of flavors, while the Rasam had a satisfying balance of tanginess and spice. Both were thoroughly satisfying and complemented the rest of the meal perfectly.
If you're looking for an authentic, traditional meal with bold flavors, Bhattara Bhojana is definitely worth a visit. I highly...
