Date- 13-Jul-2022, Time - Around 11am. Place- Chandralyout, DBD
Taste - Awesome, Food Quality - Awesome, Hygiene - Good. Service - Worst!
Have been a fan of Dbd since a long time now. Though everything else is good, the service is getting from good to worst!
I understand during peak hours, it might take a hit. I am talking about the time, when there is hardly any public in the restaurant.
Morning - Breakfast is the most important thing to me, which partly decides, how your day goes!
I ordered an Idli and a Paddu and promptly gave the chit to the concerned person. I got the idli, and i was having it, assuming Paddu would be done in a while. Now, the tawa was free, the cook for free, and there were atleast 5 people who were free, loitering and gossiping around. This i have noticed many times, but chose to ignore many times.
After i was done with idli, i promptly checked for paddu. To my shock, the guy says, i did not tell that i ordered paddu as well. I said i did. He was totally adamant saying a NO. I asked him for the order slip, where in it was clearly written, idli and paddu. Still he says, i did not tell him.
Like seriously? I pay, i order and i did not tell him? ok. Assuming i did not tell, (which i clearly remember i did) The guy couldnt read what is written? or did not care to check? I walked out of the hotel, taking the refund.
One review like this, might go unheared, unread, unnoticed. But trust me, you lost a loyal customer, who comes from 4km just to have bkfst at your place.

One more experience!!
These people take delivery too much for granted. Illiterate and nonsense staff at DBD. I think it’s ok for them if one or two customers feel dissatisfied. Inspite of giving clear instructions, things were not followed. Idli was sour, pale and dosa was stinky!
Better, go to the resto and eat, for delivery it is horrible!! I mean literally horrible..as we don’t get to see until the order...
Read moreI am regular cosutmer for DBD C.Lyt. since it opened. as ardent bennedosa lover it always satisfies me at any time of the day. Benne Khali with extra Chutney and palya is what regularly order. And sometimes benne masala dosa or Paddu. I have also tried set and thatte idli but never fan of them. and kids love benne masala but i will be cautious to order with less spicy chutny (the red spread ) If benne dosa is on your mind then do not think twice get into DBD. Recently i think the taste slightly modified.. it may be because of anything from raw materials to the cook.. but i have never stopped...
Read moreA well-known and authentic pure-veg Dharshini-style eatery in Chandra Layout, famous for its traditional Davanagere benne dose. The menu is simple but focused — must-try items include Benne Masala, Benne Kali, Open Benne Masala, and Paddu. Everything is delicious and rich in flavor.
I've been a regular here for a long time, especially for Sunday breakfast — just be prepared for some wait time during peak hours. Prices are slightly on the higher side compared to the locality. Street parking is usually available nearby.
Highly recommended if you're craving authentic benne dose...
