Picture this: I stepped into Indraprastha, a hidden gem tucked away on the bustling Vijayanagar main road. As I stepped inside, a wave of nostalgia washed over me. The familiar sights, the aroma of spices dancing in the air—it was like stepping back in time to the days of 90's.
I found myself a cozy spot, surrounded by walls adorned with vintage photographs and artifacts, each whispering tales of the restaurant's rich history. The buzz of conversations and the clatter of plates filled the air, creating a lively symphony that set the stage for what was to come.
The friendly server approached with a smile and handed me the menu. But let's be honest, there was only one dish that truly stole the show—the masala dosa. It was renowned far and wide, a legend in its own right. I couldn't resist the temptation and placed my order with eager anticipation.
As I waited, observing the bustling activity around me, I couldn't help but feel a sense of camaraderie. People from all walks of life, young and old, gathered under this roof, bound by their love for good food and cherished memories. Indraprastha seemed like a culinary haven where time stood still, a place that had witnessed countless stories unfold.
Finally, the moment arrived. The dosa, golden and crispy, was placed before me like a work of art. The first bite was a revelation—a burst of flavors that danced on my tongue. The potato filling was perfectly spiced, while the dosa itself had that coveted crunch that made it a true delight.
To complement the dosa, I ordered a steaming cup of coffee. The aroma alone was enough to lift my spirits, and with the first sip, I felt a warmth spreading through my body. It was the kind of coffee that invigorates your soul and fuels your passion. Each sip was a moment of bliss, as if time paused just for me.
As I savored every bite and sip, I couldn't help but reflect on the journey of Indraprastha. It had weathered the storms of time, adapting to changing tastes and trends, yet managing to retain its essence, surviving for almost 30 years and still going strong. The dedication of the staff and the commitment to quality were evident in every morsel.
Leaving the restaurant, I carried with me not just a satisfied appetite but a sense of gratitude. Indraprastha had given me more than just a delicious meal—it had given me a glimpse into the past, a taste of tradition, and memories that would linger for years to come.
So, dear readers, if you find yourself in Vijayanagar, let the doors of Indraprastha beckon you. Step inside and let the flavors transport you to a bygone era, where the love for food and the joy of shared experiences reign supreme. Indraprastha, a haven of flavors and stories,...
Read moreI heard about this hotel by word of mouth from many people, so I decided to pay a visit to check the taste of food and ambience . This building looks big and its an old building too . It really needs a make over . The pest control should keep an eyes on this hotel .
*Food This place is fit only for typical South Indian food. Meal served taste is moderate, North Indians gravy tastes very similar so it’s an bad idea to order multiple gravy. Take any pulov they taste same. Soups were tasty and delicious I really liked it. Dosa and idly lovers should visit the place. Don’t opt for Chinese food they taste like reg South Indian food. Manchurians tastes good but it’s too oily.

The Chairs and table is really old and need a replacement. The cushions in the chair are dirty and only few chairs are good. The ground floor is too busy , the first floor is filled with discussions by real estate agents. Service is A/c hall starts at 1pm.

Read moreI recently visited this restaurant after a long time, and I must say I was quite disappointed with my experience. Firstly, the paneer dish I ordered was extremely salty, to the point where it became unpleasant to eat. Additionally, it was evident that they had used expired ingredients, which is unacceptable in terms of food safety and quality control.
The gobi Manchuria dish was by far the worst I have ever had. The taste was bland, and the texture was off-putting. It lacked the essential flavors and crispiness that I expected from such a popular dish. It was a big letdown.
To make matters worse, the paw pajji dish took an agonizing 30 minutes to be served, and when it finally arrived, it did not live up to expectations. The dish was poorly executed and lacked the authentic flavors that I remember from my childhood visits. It was a disappointing experience overall.
I must admit that this place might be suitable for breakfast, as that seems to be their strong suit. However, I strongly advise against visiting this restaurant for dinner. My recent visit after 10 years has made it clear to me that I will not be returning to this establishment. The subpar quality of the food and the health risks associated with expired ingredients are concerns that I cannot ignore.
I hope this review serves as constructive feedback for the management to improve the quality and consistency of their dishes. It's unfortunate to see a place that held sentimental value for me as a child fall short of expectations.
