Mad Over Grills - A One-Time Visit. I recently visited Mad Over Grills for lunch, which was priced at ₹499 per person. Here's my honest review:
Ambience: The place was overcrowded, making it extremely noisy with loud conversations and music. While they offer decoration services for celebrations, the overall environment felt chaotic rather than relaxing.
Food: Grill: The options included soya, paneer, mushroom, and cauliflower. The variety was limited, and the taste was average at best.
Soup: A simple corn and coriander soup, nothing remarkable.
Main Course:
Rice: Mint ghee rice, pulao, and fried rice were available and tasted decent.
Starters: Brinjal dry, banana Manchurian, vegetable Manchurian, and bhindi were part of the offering, though none stood out flavor-wise.
Gravy: Daal, sarson ka saag, bhindi, and paneer gravy – a mix of North Indian-inspired dishes.
Breads: Roti and papad were served, but they were fairly basic.
Noodles & Pasta: Three varieties of noodles and pasta were offered but didn’t leave a lasting impression.
Chaats: A decent addition, though not extraordinary.
-Mocktails: Pineapple and green apple-flavored juices – refreshing but unmemorable.
Pizza & Garlic Bread: Two types of pizza, which were average, and garlic bread that was disappointing, tasting more like plain bread with cheese.
Desserts: The desserts were the highlight of the meal. Pastries and banana shots were excellent (I went for seconds!). Beetroot halwa 4/5. However, donut gulab jamun was underwhelming, and the orange sweet was just okay. Ice cream flavors (vanilla and strawberry) were standard but enjoyable.
Service: Service was painfully slow. We had to wait so long for the grill and starters that we started with the main course. This lack of coordination was frustrating.
Overall Experience: While the place caters to vegetarians and offers a decent spread, the slow service, excessive crowd, and noise dampened the experience. It’s a spot you might want to visit once, but it’s not somewhere I’d return to...
Read moreWith a family of 4 had lunch on aug15th, very bad experience. First they said the bbq will take 15 mins but it never turned till we paid the bill so it's not grill on the table. Even, They haven't served the grill items till we begged to serve anything, as the starters got over on the buffet and they haven't filled for 25mins, looks either they haven't anticipated the crowd or they are lethargic, though the main course of sambar rasam rice all available but panner, Chinese items are not filled in sufficient qty, almost it's been an excercise to walk the floor with empty plate to find out the items are filled or not, even after several requests, the items are not filled properly, it's pathetic to watch that they get some and those will be wiped off within 2-4 members in front of you. Though the food that was available tasted good, the service and refilling and planning were very very bad. Another sad part is the air conditioners, damn don't ever sit near the entrance, the doors are opened which killed the chilliness in the noon. probably the owner thought it's in Bangalore where the weather will help but unfortunately bangalore weather is not that good. I don't know how the crowd coming for such bad service. Even they haven't reduced the bill for no bbq grill experience. Because of hunger and with kids we had to eat what's available and paid full money for not worthy grill experience. Better to avoid on weekends and holidays. Not sure if this is the case even on regular weekdays because I see very little staff. Hence my rating on the service and atmosphere...
Read moreOkay,so here is my review. We were 4 adults and 3 kids, 2 of them 9 yrs old. The place has a big hype though, but not worth the money. Food- most of the main course was quite spicy and not fit for kids to consume, that said my 9 year olds could not eat most of the items, incl noodles and pasta. The rasam was merely tamarind water with coriander leaves, extremely sour. I had to ask them to pour some water in it to reduce the sourness lol.
Mocktail- extreme sugar orange flavoured water, i would recommend not to opt for it.
What i liked- started were okay, but the gobi, mushroom and paneer was spicy again, not fit for kids to consume.
Dessert - I saw a couple of empty plates, strawberry pastry and chocolate brownie apparently empty. The Mango smoothie was nothing but Mango lassi, artificially flavoured.
Cost - super super expensive. Kids age to be considered to atleast 13 yrs as they do not consume as adults do,and with spice levels, I just paid them rs.1400 plus taxes just like that, coz my kids could not eat much due to the spice levels.
Recommendation - if you are looking for some spicy food,go for it,but taking kids is definitely not worth it even by a bit. Not at all kid friendly food my kids finished their lunch with a few bites of watermelon today at a cost of...
