Review 5 years ago (5 stars) : Mysore masala dosa, Pudi Dosa, Ghee Masala Dosa are my pick...
Edited : 7/Jul/22 Great Dosas, although the place looks a little unhygienic, after stepping out of the main cooking area and eating out in the open makes you leave all that and focus on eating. The key ingredient here is the Pudi and the Nandini Ghee. Plenty of Ghee which definitely adds to the taste and for a good crisp. The Pudi is also great, pudi is not like the one you get as Podi near Tamil Nadu, but more of the Karnataka style and i think the Pudi and Ghee always makes a great combo. You'll enjoy the Dosas when both of these come together. That's where they score the maximum points. Coming to Chutney, it's not that great but it's also not that bad. It goes well for Dosas like the Mysore masalas and Pudi Dosas, the chutney goes well with such Dosas, but the same won't be go so well with a Masala Dosa. I think they put a lot of Roasted Chana Dal in the Chutney i guess, so it makes it super thick. But by doing that you hardly taste the coconut and the green portions of the chutney. It still goes well with the Dosas nothing too bad to complain.
Service was quick, although orders are not so well managed, most of the time they seemed confused about the orders, but you'll get your Dosas in time.
They also have Paddus and a few other items that I'm yet to try. May be...
Read moreExtremely tasty yet healthy food with high quality ingredients, feels like it's home cooked :) (I think they only use ghee there and no oil) I always order idlis with ghee, baath dosa and kaju lemon rice which is my all time favourite - both the owners (Father and Son) are very welcoming and make one feel like they are eating at thier own house and not to forget it's very affordable, i eat there almost 3 times a week 💙 - There are a few chairs and table where you can sit and eat too!
To summon up the whole review in short
Pros
Quality food Homely food Affordable Feel at home atmosphere They have a reputation of 40 years
Cons
It's not very near to my place :( otherwise would have eaten everyday ha ha (It's in the heart of the city, Banshankri so it my fault and not theirs)
it's not listed on any food ordering apps unfortunately :(Again, it's one of those high demand quality with affordability kind of places)
That's all folks - do visit and enjoy the dishes (Bonus tip : there is a coffee, tea amazing outlet just beside Nandini Dosa Camp - now that's for another review) Chao...
Read moreVisited this place just now , it is located in ISRO layout . It is not a restaurant or even a stall its just a guy cooking in a garage of a house .
Coming to the food we ordered -
1.mysore masala dosa - it tasted almost similar to what we make at home , it wasn't exclusive in any way . He does this strange thing where he puts aloo and onions in the dosa while roasting the dosa and smashes it all, I really don't understand why it just makes the dosa soggy . The pudhi he uses tastes good with the dosa . 2.mangalore bhaji - it ranks pretty low on my list , the bhaji was stone cold and had no taste . Once you eat more than 2 of these it feels like a paste in your mouth ,not that good . 3.chutney - the chutney was heavily diluted and a little towards bland side .
Overall a very mediocre place for a foodie looking something authentic and new , if I wanted home made taste ,I would have made it at home .prices are restaurant level . Idly is 30 bucks and dosa varies from 30 bucks to 50 bucks. If your home sick and need dosa visit...
