We had a terrible experience during our visit to Paakashala Heritage for Breakfast dated 28/09/2025
We were seated in an indoor dining area, where a lot of antique and decorative items were on display.
We placed our order and started eating. During the course of the meal, my 1.7 year old daughter started becoming a little cranky and just happened to drop an empty steel bowl on the seating and I happened to hold it immediately and kept it back on the table. At that very moment - one of the person (staff) who was standing there started yelling at my kid in a loud and aggressive voice. I immediately got offended and told that person to be polite and not shout at the kid. Even then, he happened to argue back saying he did not shout. Later I told him in an assertive manner saying he did shout and that was not good on his part.
Once we finished our breakfast, I went outside and asked one of the staff member to call the manager as I wanted to let him know on the events that unfolded, so that he could make sure this does not repeat.
But to my rarest surprise, I see that the one who shouted at my daughter was the Manager himself!!
I started the discussion and told him that he is not supposed to shout, especially at the toddler. He started yelling at me saying the antique items kept in the dining area are all very expensive and if there is a damage to any of them, who is going to pay?
I responded back saying:
If there is damage done from my side, I'll make sure to pay it.
He went on arguing and talking in an unprofessional way stating people will give excuses and not pay for the damages.
The arguments continued and he had absolutely no signs of being apologetic or discussing the matter politely.
He was so stubborn and adamant when he made this statement: This is my place and I will shout!!
He even referred to me in a singular tone and completely lost his temper.
It was so awkward and embarassing to be having this discussion in front of the entire crowd.
The Manager's name as per the information shared by the staff: MR. RAJA RAO
He definitely needs to be fine tuned/mentored to make him learn as to how he needs to be talking to a customer.
This kind of experience at a very popular Restaurant chain totally breaks the faith in you. One definitely needs to think twice before going to to such places where people are a mere commodity for them. They absolutely don't believe in customer service or the least is to talk in a polite manner.
I sincerely urge the Managing Committee of this Restaurant Chain to sensitise the staff's behaviour.
PS: So, what next?
The Hotel Management will respond back with a standard template and that's the end of the story!! A customer taking out his time to write a detailed feedback on a bitter experience, so that he can expect a more professional attitude/behavior on his next visit, but...

Read moreIt was our wedding anniversary. We were seven in all. On the recommendation of my BiL, we went in two cars to Paakshala Heritage on Uttarahalli road for dinner. The place where our tables were, looked like some vintage shopping area. Though air-conditioned, it wasn't enough. Plenty of flies literally troubled us. The place mostly smelled of phenyle. It also resembled store room, where water bottle cartons were piled at two places, ultimately spoiling eatery ambience. For dinner one gets north Indian cuisine only. Manager handed out a leaflet of Udupi bhojana, very look of it was tempting but sadly it was for lunch. There is a sweet shop from India Sweet House within the restaurant. A good variety of sweets to satisfy one’s sweet tooth can be tried. It’s time for dinner. We ordered soup, starters and a few glasses of juice and lemon soda. Soup was good. Starters were good too. But quantity could have been little more. Main course order comprised rotis, naans, kofta, other curries and two variety of rice. Overall food quality was ranging between good and very good. Hotel staff did try their best to serve and make us happy. What could have been an evening to remember with tasty food and helpful service was marred by steady drone of flies. Even cleaning person made more noise by throwing the cutlery in to the buckets. Restaurant certainly needs to improve in this area. Giving four stars for food...
