It's a bit strange. I visit Bangalore, being from the city to visit family. Interestingly, I leave Hyderabad to visit and find that Bangalore has more "Andhra" style restaurants than Hyderabad, based on my observation. Is it the spice? Is it the legacy? And mind you, I am not speaking of the Hyderabadi Biryani which has become an iconi dish. I am speaking of the Guntur, Rayalseema, and what they call Andhra cuisine. Locally curated flavours and spices that are really good .....and can get really spicy! For us, the "usual" go to places were Nagarjuna, Nandhini Deluxe (now expanded to other forms with a similar name - Nandhana Palace, etc..). Most recently, we stumbled upon Royal Andhra Spice in the South Side of Bangalore. Having been there one or two times, the dish I could recall not getting over was their Non-Veg Meals. Unlike the traditional way a non-veg meal is served where you have 3-4 veg options and 1-2 non-veg items, this non veg meal has 3-4 non veg items, 1-2 veg items and here is the kicker - you get to choose Biryani too! On this occasion, it was a gathering of cousins that led us to choose a-la-carte. It was a spread that included the classic Chicken Biryani, Tawa Fish Fry (spectacular!) and Andhra Syle Chilli Chicken (Superbly Spicy!). By the way, I have yet to find this similar flavour of Biryani and Chilli Chicken here in Hyderabad, so if you know of a place, please let me know! Additionally Soups were ordered along with regular Dals and Rice. Everyone enjoyed their food and we went out with a happy belly and look forward to another visit soon enough. The highlight in this case being the Tawa Fish Fry - which took time to arrive, but was really well marinated and well prepared! Highly recommended. As for the ambience, the regular dining downstairs didn't have sufficient space, so we sat at the first floor restaurant called Tycoon. More loungey in nature, with lighting to match, it was okay, nothing spectacular. Overall, though - I suggest getting their earlier, seating down and going nuts for the variety of Andhra style food available. Be warned, the food gets spicy...
Read moreMost starters were satisfactory! Biriyani was terrible, waitors should do better communication.
In Non Veg: Mazedar Kabab (tandoor cooked) tasted like a non spicy version of chicken tikka, only downside was the meat wasn't too tender.. probably because of lack of marination Chicken Rogani Special (Tandoor cooked, pics attached) was truly different and awesome.. this was tender chicken thigh meat stripped and rolled with cheese stuffing and then cooked in Tandoor.. Spice levels were minimal and brought out the taste of the flavors.. people who love tandoor cooked chicken should definitely try this. Chicken biriyani was extremely bad.. it was almost like they served stale biriyani.. it wasn't hot or fresh and had a very pungent smell which would put you off instantly.. the good starter experience got terribly ruined here
In Veg: Veg Manchow and Hot-n-Sour Veg soup were excellent.. chilli baby corn and chilli mushrooms were good.. veg ball manchurian was not so great.. Veg Pulav was less spice, less flavored rice.. North Indian style.. was so-so
The waiter was extremely disappointing.. He forgot the order item that was specifically discussed for 2 mins. When all other starters arrived and we finished eating and then we we're waiting 10 mins for this to arrive. Nothing came so we called him up to ask, he realized he didn't take that order and instead of making amends, he shifted the blame on us saying we didn't order. Terrible. When we placed order for veg and egg biriyani, he came after 10 mins and said there is no egg biriyani.. we discussed alternatives to order and decided, then he says no-no.. veg biriyani is over, we have egg biriyani.. 7 of us couldn't hear it wrong..
The exquisite chicken Rogani special is making me give a 3 star...
Read moreI have been visiting this restaurant from the past one and half year. Initially i felt very good about this restaurant.
But as days goes by the quality of food & services also deteriorated vastly.
They just want to make quick money by compromising on customer satisfaction.
Today i have been to their restaurant for some take away.
To my surprise they gave me the ordered food items only in a plastic container for which they charged Rs. 6 plus GST. But when I asked for the bag they said it will be charged extra plus GST. The container was very hot and I could not carry it bare handed so again I asked for some PAPER COVER/BAG type thing which they should be given free of cost to the customer as the same is done in many other restaurants.
They squarely denied to that also. Finally i had to carry them on my hand since I had my vehicle.
As per my personal view, the bag which they give us on a cost is full of they brand and advertisement for which they should not charge the customers.
Secondly, since they also charge very high price for the food items comparing to the same items charged my other similar grade hotels they should give the bag free of cost to the customers.
Am attaching the image of the items as well as the bill copy for other customers to see.
So please think before going in for a take away from this Restaurant.
After paying huge extra amount for their food I did not expect this kind of money saving method adopted by them. Will stop going...
