Had gone cycling today morning and noticed this small darshini tucked among the student hangouts on dayanand sagar college road , decided to give it a try! As it was an unplanned visit I was short on cash and managed to have only idly vada and coffee. The place is quite tiny probably 10 people could fit in....seems hygienic enough ...there is only one guy and handles cooking, orders and cleaning . The menu is quite basic containing your core south Indian breakfast items ( picture of the menu has been added ) . Coming to the food - Idly - as I always say you can never go wrong with idly and he didn't ....they were soft freshly made and standard sized . Vada - surprisingly it wasn't oily and it was of adequate size , although I wished for a little salt in it ,the chutney and samber covered it up and it was quite tasty Chutney - it is more of homemade style than a restaurant styled , spicy and coriander in taste . Fair warning to people who don't eat spice ! . But it tasted good . Samber - the samber was a little disappointing although I was the first customer the samber was slightly diluted and the spicy ,tangy taste was unfortunately lost . Not sure if it like this everyday or due to cash crunch situation ....nonetheless it wasn't impressive Coffee - coffee was your standard filter coffee and we all know you can't screw that up . As usual made my day . Idly vada cost 35 bucks and the coffees was 10 bucks ....nominal price . Place is good for unplanned or emergency visits or if your short on cash ....if your having a planned breakfast or can afford a better restaurant go for it.

I work at DSCE currently, and when I m too busy in the mornings i always get my breakfast packed in a box from Devi Sagar... I love their idli , poori , khara bhat, Vada.. everything is excellent.. spicy chutney , sweetish sambar... So tasty, hygenic, value for money and full of flavour food.... most breakfast items are prices at 25rs to 45 rs... I definitely recommend this place to everyone working around this small amazing eatery.... Don't judge a book by it's cover.. visit this place yourself to know what i mean.... I was also introduced to this place by cousin brother who was a student here in 2018... And ever since i keep coming here for breakfast .. this place is my preference for breakfast over the nearby hotels

This cute little darshini has to be one of the hidden gem among the myriad of options available on DS college road, the set dosa has to be my absolute favourite!

What I like about the space is the home style preparation of the food, menu features all your usual classic south Indian favourites.

Always try to get a quick bite whenever I'm...
