No wonder, it's got such high rating. This is a place you feel homely... it's not a place to look for ambience. It's a place to fill stomach...if you can fill stomach with love, tasty food then Venkateshwara mess is the place for such an experience. For 60 rupees you get two freshly made chapatis, unlimited piping hot rice with huli and saaru. Again Majjige unlimited. Chapatis get a curry - today it was massoppu and cabbage palya. I had never eaten such tasty cabbage palya, luscious...juicy and crunchy with the hint of ginger, coconut and possibly hing... very mild green chilly spice, massoppu was spot on. Huli with vegetables... probably it was gulla, potato, Radish, drumstick, etc...was delicious... I had two servings of rice with huli... I didn't go for saaru, maybe next time. Majjige had ginger elevating the taste. Of course there was pickle on the table. All in all, it was great food for stomach and mind...I am heading home satisfied... I will visit again.. The love shown by the cashier... middle aged person is extraordinary...the welcoming gesture asking us to pick the plate, use hot water to clean it and then head to counter for food. Please don't go to this place expecting enough tables or chairs... it's not a restaurant... it's a humble place.. The way they treat customers.. You feel like they are doing dasooha and not business. I have used daasoha in a very loose sense, not literally like how mutts offer food free for devotees. In short, I am looking forward to next visit to this place....

Imagine buying sambar, rasam, palya (or poriyal), rice, dal, and chapatis in bulk, at prices that are unheard of in the town. The quality is top-notch, and the flavors are authentic and delicious.
I've tried their meals, and I can confidently say that it's the best South Indian food I've had in a long time. The portions are generous, and the prices are ridiculously low.
If you're looking for a no-frills, authentic South Indian meal experience that won't burn a hole in your pocket, look no further. This place is a must-visit.
