Machan — Restaurant in Bhopal

Decided to try the restaurant yesterday. The service was super slow, the order took an hour, drinks were also slow to come. They printed my bill twice, separately, so I was charged double for the taxes and things. The total was around 3800/- and I paid them 4k in cash. I counted twice, the guy who took it counted, I asked them to be sure the money was sufficient. They said yes. He came back with 100 rupees change, which I decided to leave as a tip. After 5 minutes, and after I came back from the loo, three people turned up telling me I gave 500 less. It's not possible. Three different people counted it AND also brought back a change of 100. How is it possible to give back change if the money wasn't enough in the first place? How can four people count it wrong? I had 5k total in my wallet so I know for a fact I gave them 4k cause now it's all empty. Seems like a pathetic excuse to grab some cash from a single woman. 🔸Machan is one of the restaurants at Taj, Bhopal. It's multi cuisine and also hosts buffets.

🟢Positives: 🟢The infrastructure is obviously very lavish and very elegant. Very beautiful and very well maintained.

🟢The food is great! The portion sizes are HUGE, and tastes amazing. There is much more non-veg in comparison to veg food, but the preparation of the veg is also very nice! The Paneer Chilli was truly amazing and a must have!

🟢The staff needs a huge level of praise. They are very courteous and professional. Their efficiency sometimes is a little low. They forgot the order etc, but they make up for it very fast. Even the staff at the entrance is very warm. They really make the place more welcoming and are the real heroes.

🔴Negatives: 🔴It is VERY heavy on the pockets, the dal fry costed ₹750.

🔴The options for Veg food are quite limited.

Overall it's an amazing place to go, if you have a lot to spend and want to take amazing pictures! A must visit if you are in Bhopal, MP.

I highly recommend trying Machan for an absolutely amazing dining experience. The buffet offered an impressive variety of dishes that left us thoroughly satisfied. The service was top-notch, with our server being incredibly attentive and friendly.

Opting for the buffet over the à la carte menu was a fantastic decision, given the wide range of options available. The chicken and lamb curries were delightful, but the paneer and Malai kofta truly stood out. The array of appetizers and desserts added to the overall culinary delight.

The ambience of the restaurant was charming, and I believe it's the perfect blend of ambience, service, and food that makes dining at Machan truly unique. This place is ideal for celebrating special occasions like birthdays or anniversaries. We're already looking forward to our next visit.
