We visited Raj Darbar Restaurant for dinner. Below is a detailed review highlighting the pros and cons of our experience.

Cons:

Rooftop dining is not available. Many Google reviews feature photos of the rooftop at Raj Darbar Restaurant, but it is not accessible. We prefer rooftop dining and were disappointed, even though it can be requested.

The sofas in the rooftop dining area were not cleaned.

The food arrived cold at our table. We informed the staff, but they explained that it took time to deliver the food to the second floor.

Many Chinese dishes, such as noodles and Manchurian, were unavailable, which was very disappointing.

There were very few starter options available.

Avoid their Chicken Biryani, as it was tasteless. Additionally, it was not served with raita, so we had to order it separately at an extra cost. The chicken pieces were also of poor quality.

The Chicken Kashmiri, promoted as one of their best dishes, was slightly salty and did not meet expectations for the price charged.

Pros:

The ambience is very pleasant at night. The outdoor lighting is appealing, and you can dine outside on beds provided for seating.

It’s a family-friendly restaurant, and alcohol is not permitted.

There are separate rooms for vegetarian and non-vegetarian diners.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Raj Darbar and tried their non-vegetarian dishes. Overall it was a satisfying experience though there were a few points worth mentioning.

Taste The non-veg dishes were packed with flavors. The chicken biryani, mutton korma, butter chicken or grilled chicken was aromatic, with well-balanced spices. The meat was tender and cooked to perfection, and I particularly enjoyed the rich flavorful gravies.

Quality of chicken 🍗 The quality of the meat was top-notch. It was fresh juicy and well-marinated. However in some dishes the meat could have been cooked a little longer for even more tenderness but that’s a minor point.

Presentation The food was presented well though I think some dishes could have used a bit more garnish for added visual appeal. That said the focus was clearly on the taste and that was where they truly excelled.

Service The staff was attentive and ensured that we had everything we needed. The service was quick and they were happy to customize dishes as per our preference for spice levels.
