I had visited the restaurant for vegetarian ala-carte dinner a few years back. I was impressed with the quality of the food and the imported vegetables they served. The taste, smell and presentation was authentic, and so was the ambience. Again on 27th December’ 2018, I along with my father and brother (they are non-vegetarians) visited the place for the buffet lunch. To my surprise the quality and commitment has taken a nose dip, since last. Vegetarian main course dishes were very less in menu, and all tasted the same. They had too generously added corn flour, local button mushrooms and oil. The starters were oily and very crudely displayed. Rather than smoothly keeping/displaying the pastries type items, while refilling/replenishing, the waiters were just pushing the food brought from the kitchen to the display plates, and in the process, damaging the upper layer. I asked a waiter (if I remember his name is ‘Bittu’) for an ice-cream, and I was told to get it myself from the counter. Since there was no bowl or ice-cream spoons there, I asked for the same and I was asked to use a quarter plate and table/dessert spoon. I had enquired on phone (recordings with me) the day before, and I was told that there will be a spread of 33 items which will cost me Rs. 999/plate. But I found less items and was charged Rs. 1,099/plate. Moreover, Rs. 1,099 for vegetarian is too costly. Of course, my father and brother liked their food. And on my mentioning my experience in the feedback form, the manager immediately responded and heard my suggestions, and also got me a complementary plate of sauté mushrooms.
