Mohan's handi biriyani — Restaurant in Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation

My review might be a bit long, but i will precise. It all started with ordering food from zomato, where this being near to my come costed less for transport. Earlier, both the quality and the quantity satisfied me well, as in happy tummy, happy me. But in my previous zomato order, the quantity i received was inadequate. Accordingly i lodged a complain and zomato offered me a half refund. Hence today i decided to go in person, so that i wouldn't get lesser quantity to the price i pay. The food being hot, was damn tasty, but looking on the quantity i was a bit unsatisfied, but still being hungry avoided that and started consuming my order. Finally when i went for payment, i was expecting the same billing amount of 120Rs, but he charged 170Rs. Upon asking he replied that this isn't the combo meal, its normal veg fried rice and chilli mushroom. Just imagine paying Rs170 for the food that didn't even looked like(in quantity i mean) Rs120.

Chilli mushroom had 4-5 pieces of mushroom, and rice was not upto in quantity.

Even if i go value for money, there also they dont satisfy well(location wise and facilities wise, as in charging like a 5star and dont even have an internal seating).

Most important thing, which another customer asked and the guy on counter replied, that handi biryani isn't made in matti handi, its just served in matti handi, then how "Mohan Handi biryani" is justified?? That too with a pick of matti handi in their banner😅 It should be named, "Mohan biryani served in...

It's located on the service road near the NH. While coming from cuttack to bhubaneswar, don't take the rasulgarh over bridge which starts after the canal road. Go by the service road, cross vishal mega mart and this place is 50 meters or so after that on the left side. It's AC restaurant where you can sit and enjoy the food. They serve both veg and non-veg food including veg and non-veg dahi pakhala thali. They have parcel system too for dahi pakhala but they charge Rs 20 extra for that. If you eat there,sitting inside then the price is Rs 100. Taking about the interior,average size sitting space for 20-25 people,normal decorations. If you want parcel,then one can directly order from the front counter where a lady is sitting whom I presume as the owner. Taking about food,quantity wise around 10 items including bhaja,bharta,curry and chutney. Enough for single person with so much varieties and quantity....

Today we were at this place for the second time, because for the first time we visited this place the food was really delicious with a budget friendly price.

But today, It was absolutely hell of an experience. We ordered biryani. The biriyani was like "chicken pieces over khichdi". Even khichdi rice tastes better ! They charged 140/- for the biryani which was 120/- earlier. They increased the price but decreased quality in a disaster manner.

They charged us extra just because we want some rice more, the reason is obvious the rice served was very less according to the price.

I'm giving it 2 stars. Because - ⭐ The service was good. ⭐ They served the food quick.

In my opinion, Go to this place if you just want to seat peacefully in AC room. But never expect good food from them...
