I've always had a good experience at Moody Blues - although the service is a lot slower than most restaurants. This time, unfortunately, the service was a lot slower than usual.

And speaking of the food - the Butterflyed King Prawn's description led us to believe we would be treated to king prawns in a creamy garlic and parsley sauce, but what did get delivered was Bali Prawns - which we were still okay with had it tasted good. But it was oily with an unimaginative and tedious crust - it wasn't delicious at all. And no sign of the promised garlic & parsley or the bread in the "sizzling skillet of succulent prawns oven roasted on Italian bread seasoned with garlic and parsley".

The Spanakopita tasted good, but it was inauthentic too as it was just a single layer pastry wrapper holding the spinach and feta cheese stuffing, deep fried & dusted with a spicy powder that made it taste much like a palak paneer samosa would! None of the authentic buttery pastry layers. And both had a rote thousand island dressing for a dip that didn't go with either of the dishes.

What you must try at Moody Blues, owing to my past (much better) experiences is: Beer Battered Prawns - they are crisp, light, deliciously battered fresh prawns & make you want to have them by the bucket load! Stuffed Mushrooms - delicious bites to enjoy while chatting with friends Alfredo sauce Pasta - a delicious Alfredo is everything in a pasta! Fish Piccata - note that it is a batter fried fish rather than a grilled one, but is served with a yummy parsley and caper sauce Most Indian starters are good here.

The experience overall is slight above par - great ambience, good location & they always use fresh ingredients... But be sure ask the servers for a description of the dish if you're trying something new & expect a more...

Things I ordered: Mock tails: -A kokum, Tamarind and lemon infused with soda. -Tangy in taste -Good quantity and amazing taste.

-coconut and mongo infused cream drink. -A little too sweet for me. -quantity and presentation were commendable.

Hara bhara kebab: -veg shami kebabs with minced mixed vegetables. -6 pieces, pretty good for two people to have. -soft and cooked well. -right amount of spices used to with the combination of veggies. -great dish, a should have.

Chicken seekh kebab -minced chicken with some spices -6 pieces served on the table. -soft and cooked well. -having it with chutney is a wonderful combination as the spice balance and the quality of chicken was great. -excellent and a must have dish…

Paneer jhalfrezi: -semi gravy paneer with some vegetables, would have preferred it dry though. -good quantity for one person to have… could have been a little more for two people to have. -A dish called spicy but I would rate it a little around medium spicy. -Good to have with butter rotis. -good, could have dish.

Butter roti: -soft and heavy. -should have ordered 1 less than we generally eat as the butter and heaviness actually fills you up a little earlier.

Ambience: It’s good for family and youngsters to have a good time here, live screening and soft house music could be good for ears.

Service: Good enough, no major complaints.

A regular at the restaurant, keep going there to have good food...
