Aug 2025
Unfortunately, my recent visit in August 2025 was quite disappointing in comparison.
To begin with, it took nearly 20 minutes to prepare our table after the previous guests had left — an avoidable delay, especially during busy hours. I was then informed that Paya Soup is not served on Sundays, so I opted for the Crab Soup and Veg Manchow instead. While the crab soup retained its excellence, the veg Manchow soup was bland and left untouched. The Garlic Bread was soggy and lacked freshness. We also ordered Garlic Prawns, which turned out to be underwhelming in both taste and texture.
In an effort to salvage the meal, I tried the Chicken Cobb Salad with Chipotle Mayo Dressing, which thankfully stood out with its taste and presentation — one of the few highlights of the evening.
While I understand that occasional inconsistencies can happen, the overall drop in quality and service — especially compared to my earlier experiences — was quite evident. It leads me to suspect a change in the kitchen team or overall management. I genuinely miss the Bombay Hotel of 2023 and 2024 that consistently delivered on both taste and service.
Dining out is about more than just food — it’s about the overall experience. Sadly, this time, that experience fell short. The full bill was paid, including for dishes that were left untouched, which only added to the disappointment.
I truly hope the management takes this feedback in the right spirit and works toward restoring the quality, consistency, and warmth that once defined Bombay Hotel. Not again Warm regards,👋
Oct 2023 had the pleasure of being relocated from Pune to Bhubaneswar, and as a passionate food lover, I embarked on a quest to discover exceptional dining spots. To my delight, I stumbled upon the Bombay Hotel and decided to give it a try. To say that my experience was amazing would be an understatement.
The soup was an absolute delight, and the starters were a burst of flavors that left me craving more. Although the sizzler didn't quite live up to its name, the mouthwatering starters have me eagerly anticipating my return visit, where I'm certain to indulge in their sumptuous Indian main course. It’s not expansive, bill was around Rs 800 per head.
Without a doubt, I wholeheartedly recommend Bombay Hotel for its delectable Indian soups, tantalizing starters, and undoubtedly promising main courses. It's a culinary gem worth exploring in Bhubaneswar!
Back again 😛
June 2024 I first visited nine months ago. Now, on my return to Bhubaneswar, I had the chance to dine there again last night. The crab soup was mouth-watering, followed by delicious starters and a satisfying main course. Once again, I loved the experience. The restaurant offers ample parking and is budget-friendly, making it a perfect place for a family dinner. It was a wonderful repeat visit.
As a regular patron of Bombay Hotel since October 2023, I’ve always appreciated its flavorful soups, delicious starters, and the warm dining atmosphere. Over the past visits, the restaurant had become one of my favorites in Bhubaneswar for a satisfying and consistent...
Read moreThe Bombai at Kalinga Hospital Square in Bhubaneswar offers a typical terrace cafe experience, lacking a standout ambiance. Despite the current terrace cafe trend, the restaurant falls short in delivering a unique atmosphere. The limited availability of authentic Bombay dishes is a notable downside.
The pricing raises eyebrows, especially given the exorbitant rates. The Naan Pizza, or "Naanza," is priced at nearly 300 rupees, significantly higher than the average cost of a Naan at other establishments. The disparity in pricing seems unwarranted, especially when considering the simplicity of the dish.
The Hot Chocolate, priced at 190 rupees (excluding GST), is on the higher side, and when factoring in the quantity, it becomes less justifiable. Comparisons with other popular coffee chains like Starbucks reveal a noticeable difference in pricing for similar beverages.
The Kadak Sandwich, priced at almost 300 rupees (including GST), raises concerns about value for money. The taste is deemed below average, with the suspicion that only a basic potato stuffing contributes to the flavor.
In conclusion, The Bombai disappoints with its high pricing, lackluster ambiance, and limited authentic offerings. The association with Bombay in its name does not seem to justify the premium, and patrons might find better alternatives in Bhubaneswar for a more satisfying...
Read moreVisited The Bombai today, no specific reason of visit, just passing thru and saw a beautiful Red coloured building with an Ambassador parked outside. My Nostalgia Brain kicked in and there we are at the Bombai. Excellent ambience with Nostalgia all around. It's an old home converted to an restaurant having cozy little corners inside every room. Beautiful 80s english and hindi songs played. It definitely gives u a sense of rexalation. Also, the terrace was great however due to the BBSR heat choose to sit at the 1st floor right under the AC. 😋
Seems the owner took time in creating this place. It's sheer passion. Everything was meticulously designed. Wow.
Coming to food and drinks: ordered some Iced Americano and Coffee with Cola....both were great with the right amount of caffeine shots. For break fast it was Shakshuka it was good it the york was lil cooked, I missed the volcano eruption, accompanied with Pav. Taste was good.
Service is great, guys are all smiling and seems have a passion and no complain.
Only sad part: they gave us a Calling bell to call for service, felt like a "Gora". Never used that just called out their name or waited until they came to us.
I will definitely visit with my family and friends soon.
Sadly was not able to take some photos as busy on...
