Oberai Bakers & Cafe — Restaurant in Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation

Personally me and my colleagues had ordered cakes and other items 2-3 times from this place during our quarterly visit to Bhubaneswar. We also went once to this place with our client as well. The ambience was very nice and we all really enjoyed. We thought we have finally found a decent goto place with our team until I got to know about a horrible incident that one of my team members came across. My colleague had ordered a cake for his close friend on his birthday. What supposed to be a pleasant day ended on bitter experience for them. In one of the cake slices, a tooth was found. After this my colleague went to the shop and told them about this and to his surprise, the cake shop associate simply denied. It was a genuine complaint which could have been accepted and worked out gracefully. The guy was so ill behaved that he didn’t accept his fault, let alone apologising. My colleague did not go there to ask for refund and other pity compensation, but to address a bad experience for which he had paid. He posted reviews on Google rating and I was surprised to see the audacity of this shop owner. This guy replies in a sarcastic manner which simply reflects these guy’s attitude of serving well only to people who are either their loyal customers or who order in bulk. Because we were never treated like this. So I would request all the people, don’t just go by 5 star reviews, it’s just a matter of time someone else faces similar experience because their basic values and processes are corrupted. We have decided that no one from our team will be visiting or ordering from this place any further. As of now my team has supported me on this. I will try to convince others in my circle from BBSR as well to stay away from this unethical and immoral space. I know they have lot of customers and my feedback won’t affect them much at this point of time, but the kind of mindset and approach they have, I am sure they day is not far when they will fall...

Third class restaurant with third class food. The price is very high for food. Please don't go to this restaurant. In a single word we can say third class place. M most recent visit left me thoroughly dissatisfied on multiple fronts.

First and foremost, the food I was served during my visit was far from the high standards I have come to expect from Oberai cafe.

The dishes lacked the flavor and freshness that have always characterized your cuisine. It was evident that the food was not up to par, which is a stark departure from the exceptional meals I've enjoyed here in the past.

Furthermore, I have reason to believe that the meat used in my meal may have been stored for an extended period. The taste and texture of the meat raised concerns that it may not have been fresh, and this is not an experience I would have anticipated from a restaurant of your caliber.

I understand that occasional lapses can occur in any establishment, but the subpar food quality and potential use of long-stored meat during my visit have left me quite disheartened. I believe it's crucial for a restaurant of your reputation to maintain the highest standards in both food quality and ingredient sourcing.

I kindly request that you investigate the issues I have raised and take appropriate measures to ensure that such lapses do not recur in the future. Your restaurant has been a favorite of mine, and I sincerely hope that this feedback will help you maintain the excellence that your establishment is known for.

Parking: The restaurant offers limited parking space for four-wheelers, while two-wheeler parking is more accommodating, with free roadside options available.

Ambiance & Facilities: The ambience of the restaurant is awesome👌. One notable inconvenience is that the handwash area is located inside the restroom. This setup can sometimes cause a slight wait if the restroom is occupied.

Food & Taste: The menu boasts a wide variety of bakery items, cakes, and donuts. We decided to try the Mutton Biryani, Oberoi's Special Veg Biryani, and Chicken Garlic Kebab.

Chicken Garlic Kebab: The kebab was flavorful, with a good balance of garlic and spices, making it an enjoyable starter.

Mutton Biryani: The highlight of our meal was the Mutton Biryani. The mutton was tender, perfectly cooked, and the rice had an exquisite aroma, enhanced by the fried onions. The flavors were so well-balanced that even the rice alone was delightful. This dish is a must-try and a strong recommendation for anyone visiting the restaurant.
