The Klove Restaurant — Restaurant in Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation

Location- This place is located on the 2nd floor of a marketing complex,situated on new Jagamara double road which connects Unit-8 area to Jagamara via Airport view point. If you are coming from Jagamara side,take the road towards Unit-8 and then this place will fall on the left after 100 meters after making the left turn from the traffic post. If coming from Unit-8 side,come towards Jagamara and after passing Jagamara food court on the left side, move forward and just before 100 meters from Traffic post,there is a U turn, take that turn and this place is just on the left side. Landmark- opposite side of Sristi Alankar showroom in Jagamara.

Food- Visited this place may this year for first time with brother,sister-in-law etc. They ordered non-veg while being vegetarian, I ordered veg food. At that time the taste was good and everyone was pleased. Price was decent. I think they suggested me their special mix veg which was good. So,again after 6 months, when my brother came from outside, we visited this place again instead of visiting another restaurant nearby by for the first time or another restaurant which we had visited multiple times in past 2 years which is also nearby. But this time,I have to say, the food was disappointing. Because of month of kartika,my brother was not eating non-veg so,we both ordered veg. This time also the same waiter suggest restaurant special mix veg which he said is not on the menu(same like last time). So,we went with his suggestion which was a mistake. Being the only curry we had,they curry had 2 varieties 1/2 portion of each. The first curry was done with some veggies and some paneer,the other half was of bottle gourd with some veggies. The taste was below average and the price was Rs 300 which is quite high. I came to know that after paying the bill while my brother pointed it our. So, out bill of Rs 840,only the curry is almost 40% of the bill,that too veg curry which is kind of outrageous considering the taste and quantity. Any other items like paneer or mushroom or veg mix would have cost Rs 50-80 less. Total disappointment this time. May they have changed the cook or something but taste was never even up to the standard mark this time like last year which was great

Pros- Clean and nice environment,also have no onion & garlic restaurant same floor which belongs them called Satwik. So,one can sit there and order food with both onion & garlic and no onion and garlic. Both options available which is good. Also nice view of the road if you take the road side area seat. Okay price and quantity. They also arrange small birthday parties

Cons- Standard sitting area,Can be congested if there is a crowd. AC was working but needed more cooling this time.Food price increased but taste decreased. The restaurant special mix veg is a big disappointment for taste & price, thumbs down,so minus 1 star for that dish only. The restaurant is on the 2nd floor,so can be a problem for elderly people who are unable to climb stairs.

Verdict- If you are in that area,give this place a try. Would suggest not to take their special veg mix which was below taste and high priced. Take any other veg dish and non-veg but I think either their cook has changed or they have changed their cooking style which this time was below average. Just Okay one can say. Pathetic Experience: What was Good: The ambience and the location of the restaurant. The prices of the items. (Although I'd still say, probably a tad bit on the higher side).

What's Bad: From start to end, everything. We went into the restaurant seeing it was listed in zomato pro eligible restaurants for dine in. Upon reaching first we asked for regular water which was said was unavailable so customers are forced to have bottled mineral water and pay for it, whereas it has been mandated by the courts that atleast drinking water should be made available free of cost everywhere. Secondly, a very limited menu to choose from. No new items. Thirdly (Major Boomer): The person in charge informed that zomato pro is not eligible and that they have severed ties with respect to the same. When we said it still is listed as a pro restaurant in the app, he said it'll be removed within 2-3 days. I'll check and see if it really is removed. So no availing of discount. Now I don't know who is at fault, zomato or the restaurant but it is the customer who becomes the victim. Next, every premium restaurant I know serves soup as 1/2 for two people. Here, we were said 1/2 would be too less for two people, so again with no choice we were compelled to order 2 full monchow soups. Next, the food quality wasn't all that great too. The chicken wings were over fried and chicken 65 was bland too. Not to mention, the soup was passable. We didn't dare to go for the main course as we already had enough red flags and thought it'd be best to leave after having the starters. When asked for the bill, we had to say it to 3 different people and only then were we served with the bill.

I had food on my birthday from this restaurant as I found 4 rating but I was completely dissatisfied because we ordered veg biriyani and while eating I found a polythene piece half melted from the food. I called the manager and asked about the hygiene condition and how are they preparing the food but instead of apologizing he argued with me. After that he said he will serve again because I was getting late afte long wait I asked him to parcel that and paneer 65. I came home and opened to eat the food. I was surprised to see there was a clean bone of a chicken leg. And it was so clean that someone has eaten and thrown it as left over. I am sure it was intentionally done becaus I ordered for veg biriyani and the clean bone indicates that it was left over of someone else and was mixed with veg biriyani parcel as I scolded when I found the polythene from biriyani rice.And the paneer 65 was completely sour in taste and not good. I could not do anything as I had already left the restaurant at night and...
