Biryani Mahal has established itself as one of the high quality oriented dining experience throughout Patna, expanding day by day as a brand with 3 branches as of now. This particular review is based off dining in Ashiyana More branch. Some of the views might vary based on the outlet you last dined in. No objections on this but the taste at all 3 braches is a bit different, for sure.
Taste- Pretty good. More subjective. Some like it and some really don't. As of my knowledge in food world, these guys prepare Kolkata Style Chicken Biryani and not that traditional Hydrabadi Biryani. Talking about THE biryani (which they serve) tastes just fine. nothing special. You get a boiled potato with your piece of portion as usual with all Kolkata style biryani sevings. LOL thats controversial but tastes good. Taste of biryani is simple, sweet, aromatic and just fine. Rice is plain without any such sophistication. that Aaloo is definitely a knock off. Gravy delicacies, all tastes the same because the gravy that they use to prepare is the same heavily spiced oily AF for everything you can figure out on their menu. so either you get yourself a Chicken Tikka Masala or Mutton Stew or even Paneer Butter Masala, everything just tastes the same with minor differences. Raita is bad. I mean really bad. its just simple blended watery yogurt with an ounce of grated carrot and other veges which I couldn't figure out. Also, no gravy or raita is provided 'by default' with the 160 buck biryani portion. Talking about side munchies and snacks, the chicken rolls are definitely best buy for the price in the locality. tastes better than most of the competition, heavily loaded stuffing and freshly prepared. Food is served quick because the kitchen staff is always high on pot (just kidding) they are fast, cz the biryani is made in batches of big quantity. else everything is prepared fresh. Bread is what i loved.
Ambiance- Good place to dine in with friends and family. Cool and relaxing ambiance. Overall neat and hygienically fresh for sure. Lighting is dine-in friendly. Staff is generous and kind. Water Jugs are heavy AF! lol. yupp, you gotta lift them yourself for an extra glass of water because the service isn't the best at all times. heavily crowded for no obvious reason. Recommending a one time visit. Parcel packaging is sealed for assurity of freshness and neat with a few lagniappe goodies. And then its on you if you like it, sure its a value for money dining experience but if you don't then maybe you're right. Overall a mixed bag. Price- 7/10 not the best value for money since they applied the GST rates w.e.f. Q3 2018. earlier i would have rated 9/10 cz it was cheaper in respect to the competition.
Definitely Recommended for ONCE. And more, if you dig it. HOWEVER, there are better alternatives for Biryani now in...
Read moreI recently dined at Biryani Mahal Restaurant, and I must admit, my experience left much to be desired. I ordered the Chicken Ishtoo, Chicken Kadhai, and their signature Biryani, but unfortunately, none of them lived up to the standards I had come to expect from Biryani Mahal.
The first disappointment came with the Chicken Ishtoo. It was remarkably tasteless, lacking the depth of flavors that typically characterizes this dish. It felt like something was missing in terms of spices and seasoning, leaving me with a bland and unappetizing meal.
Next up was the Chicken Kadhai, which I found to be rather average. While it had some flavor, it didn't stand out in any way. The chicken was tender, but the sauce lacked the punch and richness I had hoped for. It felt like a generic rendition of a classic Indian dish.
Lastly, I tried the Biryani, which is usually the highlight of any visit to Biryani Mahal. However, even the Biryani fell short of expectations. It lacked the aromatic blend of spices and the mouthwatering taste that I've come to associate with their biryani. It was just an ordinary rice dish with some chicken pieces, failing to capture the essence of what makes Biryani Mahal special.
Overall, I was disappointed with my dining experience at Biryani Mahal. The lackluster flavors in the Chicken Ishtoo, the mediocrity of the Chicken Kadhai, and the underwhelming Biryani all contributed to a below-average meal. I hope that Biryani Mahal can revisit their recipes and bring back the authentic and delicious flavors that their customers have come to love. Until then, I would hesitate to recommend this restaurant to others looking for a memorable...
Read moreWho doesn't know the Biryani Mahal in Patna ? Known for their intimate Chicken Delicacies and Chicken Rolls , Biryani Mahal has been conjointly serving in different corners of Patna. Recently , we visited the one located in Ashiana Road. It's traumatizing when disappointment meets expectations. Firstly , I don't know why these restaurants' menu have the names of plenty of dishes and they serve only 50% of them. ( Bhai jo serve kr sakte ho , usi ka naam chipkao ) . And after cross-checking for a while, we ordered Drums of Heaven , Chicken Schezwan Noodles and Chicken Rolls. Firstly , the chicken was dry unappetizing and stale. There was one taste of spice that was constantly giving a mild burning sensation on the tongue ( can't predict the name ) . The wraps of Chicken Rolls was really thick and too oily and I can't even finish it. Only the Chicken Schezwan Noodles was good , if we ignore that mild constant bitter taste of it. It was an evening visit and the entire place was empty , full of waiters. And they took almost 30 mins to serve those dishes which I think is more than usual time to serve. So , for us it was a very unpleasant and...
