Worst experience ever at Downtown Cafe, Patna (Sports Complex, CC/25, Kankarbagh)!
The whole evening was just pathetic from start to end! I had booked a table in advance through the District app by Zomato — paid ₹125 for 5 people just for the reservation — but still had to wait a LONG time to get seated. Then what's the point of booking in advance?! Are we fools to pay and still stand like idiots outside??
After waiting for so long, when we finally got a table, the waiter came with the most rude and arrogant behaviour saying "Hum log booking woking nahi maante, yaha sab walk-in hai." Seriously?? Then why even allow booking on the app?? Completely unprofessional staff.
The service was unbelievably slow. First, it took forever for the waiter to even come take our order. We had to keep calling him again and again. For starters, we ordered Crispy Chilli Baby Corn and Drums of Heaven — which were just okay. Nothing special. Even that took almost 30–40 minutes to come. Not worth the wait.
For the main course, we ordered 4 Naans, Hariyali Chicken Kebab, and Mushroom Kadhai. Again, average taste, nothing to talk about — and again, very late service. When I asked for tissue papers, guess what — the waiter didn’t even bring any! Had to ask three times and still no tissues! Horrible service, zero manners.
Now comes the worst part — payment. When I went to pay via the District app, the counter guy straight-up says, “Don’t pay through app, pay directly on GPay — I already gave you discount, app le leta hai 5% commission.” EXCUSE ME??? Why should I help you save commission when I already paid ₹125 to book and had a 10% coupon as well?? At first, he refused to give the discount. Only after an argument and some chaos, he agreed to apply it.
Honestly, this whole experience was so irritating and disappointing. The staff is rude, service is painfully slow, the booking system is pointless, and they literally try to cheat customers out of their discounts and app payments.
Never coming here again. Don’t waste your time, money, or energy at this so-called ‘Downtown Cafe’ in Patna. It’s a complete scam in the name of a cafe. ZERO professionalism. RUDE staff. PATHETIC service. AVOID...
Read moreRecently visited the Downtown Cafe. The cafe has two sitting options , one under the roof and second under the sky and the shade of trees which is also their smoking zone. I'm in love with their wall art and all those hanging paintings. Coming on the food we tried their ,
Dark Hot Chocolate (Rs.119) - It was good not the best.
Hazel Latte (Rs.119) - I've tried it for the first time and I'm not familiar with the taste. For me, it was good but I found it thinner than any other lattes.
Tandoori Chicken Sandwich (Rs.149) - Taste wise it was just amazing but I've a problem with the portion they serve. Don't you think Rs.149 for two sandwiches is on the higher note?
Three Cheese Pasta (Rs.169) - Definitely the best veg pasta I had ever tried in Patna. Just go and munch on it.
Chicken Red Cook (Rs.169) - Another master piece from the kitchen of Downtown. That spicy taste is still roaming on my palate. Definitely a must try item if you love spicy dishes. . Drums Of Heaven (Rs.169) - This and the chicken red cook is prepared in the same sauce. So you won't be able to differentiate the taste. It was different than others drum of heaven , since it was a lot spicier.
Downtown Rice (Rs.149) - It was good and the rice was cooked properly. They use Basmati Rice which gave it a different aroma.
Chicken Dehati (Rs.249) - It was a disappointment. Don't know why they are topping this with a layer of shredded cheese which in turn ruined the flavours for me. Conveyed the same thing to the owner , hope they serve us better when we visit them next time.
Paneer-Mushroom 65 (Rs.159) - The paneer they used were very fresh and tender. Taste wise it was good.
So according to us , they serve some of the best spicy dishes you can find in town. Hope they improve some of...
