Extremely Disappointing Birthday Experience at Desi Thaat, Raipur

Visited Desi Thaat on my birthday with my two young children (an 11-month-old and a 4-year-old), & my wife, expecting a warm and welcoming environment. Unfortunately, it turned out to be my worst restaurant experience in Raipur to date.

We were made to wait for over 35 minutes with a promise that we’d be given a table soon. However, when the table finally got empty, Mr. Viman (the floor in-charge or possibly the manager) denied us the seating, simply because we were only two adults — and gave the table to a larger group instead.

There was zero courtesy, no basic hospitality, and absolutely no sensitivity shown towards the fact that I was with small children and celebrating a special occasion.

A restaurant that prioritizes group size over basic decency clearly lacks integrity. Mr. Viman’s behavior was unacceptable, and I sincerely hope the management takes immediate action so no one else has to go through such an experience.

Atmosphere is amazing of the place. we dined at their Veg restaurant,. Soup was good (red thai soup) That’s it ,rest was just waste of money, i ordered kabab slizzer (was in menu 4kabbabs with nan) i got tandoori platter 😕,with no nan , when i said this not what i ordered and paneer tikka is not kabab , they started saying No its like this only and we serve like this… to which i said then Y is mentioned under slizzer ? With wrong description and why wasn’t I informed before ordering this? To this they replaced same-same kabbas and refried it which made it drenched in oil and had no taste at all , crispy potatoes with chilles is just frozen french fries tossed in some spices,servers dont follow the instruction of serving the food dont know the difference between TIKKA N KABABB. I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel, and it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming and professional, making check-in quick and hassle-free. The room was spotless, spacious, and well-furnished, offering all the modern amenities one could need for a comfortable stay.

The ambiance throughout the property was elegant yet cozy, with thoughtful touches that added to the overall experience. I especially appreciated the attention to detail in the housekeeping and the prompt service whenever I had a request.

Breakfast was a highlight — a wide variety of fresh options, both local and continental, served in a pleasant dining area. The hotel’s location was also very convenient, close to major attractions and public transport.
