I visited Apaar Garden Restaurant (Diu) on 05/10/2025 during my trip and was shocked to see they charged 18% GST (CGST 9% + UTGST 9%) on my food bill.
👉 As per current Government of India rules, restaurant food bills should only have 5% GST (without ITC). But instead of 5%, they collected ₹100.67 + ₹100.67 = ₹201.34 in GST, which is 3.5 times higher than the legal amount!
When I politely questioned the staff, they responded rudely and refused to accept the mistake. This is not only unprofessional but also unethical and misleading to customers.
📢 My request to the management:
Update your billing system to comply with the 5% GST rule.
Refund the excess GST charged (₹145.41 extra collected beyond 5%).
Train your staff to behave respectfully when customers raise valid concerns.
⚠️ Tourists & visitors — please double-check your bill before paying! They are charging 18%...

To top it, they had loaded the chapati with some form of vanaspati and not ghee or butter. Veg Biryaani was not a Biryaani but some poor form of yellow rice. Service and ambience were avearge at best. Complete...
