This cafe could be so much better, but it misses the mark by a mile.
The rustic vibe of this cafe in the fort area is perhaps the only plus side to my experience here, but that’s where it all went downhill.
I understand it takes time for the order to arrive, especially pizza but waiting 45 mins for one dish cannot be justified. Then too, to my absolute surprise the oregano and chilli flakes provided with my order were both expired for more than a month (I realized the oregano was very sticky so thought of checking the expiry date).
Perhaps the biggest issue with this place is their staff. From what I could observe, only one waiter was catering to all the tables while two other people who seemed to be owners were taking orders. This model itself is flawed - you should either not take orders that you cannot fulfill, or atleast match the number of waiters. Due to this, it was pretty evident that the waiter kept forgetting everything we asked him. I specifically asked for 2 cans of beverage, he only delivered one and despite asking him thrice later on he never brought it.
Also, why not serve basic cutlery at a cafe? You are serving water bottles without glasses - I could see on every table the people were getting annoyed by drinking water directly from the bottle. Same was the case with the one dish I ordered, before I decided not to order anything else.
The margherita pizza itself was okay, it was your average homemade type pizza.

Read moreWorst experience! We had ordered just one dish which was "Crazy Penne Sticks", because they had this one under their recommended items. Anyway, first, it took them more than an hour to prepare that dish (and no there was no rush also), second, when the food finally came, it was sooooooo fkn bad. It was cold, old and the pasta was also uncooked. I have been having constant stomach ache since I have eaten their food. Talking about their service - nobody comes to take your order, no tissues, no cutlery, furniture is bad quality, water seeps in through their tables if you keep cold glass on top, you have to ask for everything by roaming around here and there, they are clearly understaffed and definitely not maintaining healthy cooking standards. And if all of this was not enough, these guys are heavy on the pocket as well. So not worth it and not at all recommended....
Read moreDropped by Backyard Cafe recently, and I must say, the location really adds to the vibe of the place. The outdoor seating area is super chill and cozy – perfect for hanging out with friends or just relaxing. Plus, they’re pet-friendly, which is always a huge bonus!
We ordered the Sizzling Chilli Potato and a pizza. While the pizza was decent, the Sizzling Chilli Potato didn’t quite hit the mark for us – it was a bit of a letdown. But here’s where they really stood out: when we shared our feedback, they didn’t even charge us for the dish, which I think speaks volumes about their customer service.
Overall, it’s a lovely spot to hang out, especially if you’re with friends or your pets. The vibe, friendly staff, and seating area make it worth a visit. Just hope they work a bit on the food consistency, and it’ll be...
