Category: South Indian Restaurant
First impression: 3/10 Its situated in the 1st floor and really difficult for old aged people. Bit tough to use stairs as it was shaking and felt as it may fall down anytime.
Value for money: 5/10 Menu felt too costly as compared to other south Indian restaurant.
Ambience: 9/10 Awesome ambience and reminded me about a village type restaurant ambience
Taste: 5/10 Item tried was masala dosa and as always dosa was fresh but the condiments was directly from the refrigerator. Coconut chutney and tomato chutney was ice cold. They managed to heat sambar to a level but that too was not sufficient (Really felt it was a day old - Can understand if I visited was for breakfast but I went there for evening snacks). Dosa was crisp, but the filling - the main ingredient of Masala Dosa was not fresh (Cold and smells old). Please try to improve this area and you were charging me Rs. 130/- for this Dosa and expected much more.
Second item was Malabar Porotta, can rate 3/10. Extremely disappointed by the flakeless Porotta. I do not think it was prepared by an experienced staff.
Cleanliness: 8/10 Very neat and clean seating arrangements and really felt good. 2 point reduced as the pipe in the wash basin was not working and it was very close to toilet which was kept open for some unknown reasons. Staff served me a cup with water for washing my hand and that cup was extremely dirty. Please try to improve the area.
Freshness of food: 5/10 Coconut chutney and tomato chutney was ice cold. They managed to heat sambar to a level but that too was not sufficient. Masala also was not fresh
Summary: Expecting some changed in my next visit and I WI definitely bring my colleagues and family friends.

Read moreMalabar Coco lives up to its image of authentic south Indian cuisine and makes sure it reminds you of the same in every bite. Although I have heard a lot about it but got the chance of tasting the same only today. My favourite is definitely the Porotta & Chicken korma. Both the Porotta & Chicken were really melt in your mouth soft and packed with taste. One thing that hits you immediately is the packing... So neat and organized and that too all in biodegradable material.... A big kudos to the owners on this venture and thanks a lot for reminding me of Kerala in...
