I usually don't give negative feedback unless i really feel there is a need. Me and my friend went to this cafe on the 17th of march and she gifted me a peanut butter and a homemade jam from this cafe. We were told to come after 1 week to collect it as they usually make these items fresh for their clients. However i delayed and i went there after 3 weeks. So when i went there, the guy working at the till asked me to wait for 2 mins(he looked really confused and i had a hitch that there's something wrong) Another guy(maybe the owner) came to us and was kind of rude and told us that the peanut butter and jam is not longer with them. To which i asked what happened, the owner bluntly told me that they have THROWN IT AWAY cause i came late to collect it. I was completely taken a back by his answer and his behavior. I decided not to make any scene there and i nicely said thank you to him and walked away. My question to them is 1) it was your responsibility to keep my items with you regardless they were getting rotten and you didn't have any right to throw them away? 2) when you take such orders you should be responsible enough to take the clients number and inform them that you are going to throw them away and give us a chance to come and collect it? 3) How can you even throw things away which you make out of passion? i mean this is your cafe and you are telling your clients that you have thrown something away which you have made, i personally wouldn't do that unless i actually didn't make it and i am lying. You guys have made such a beautiful cafe and my suggestion to you is to be nice to your clients, be more informative and be more accepting in your mistake. In the longer run such things really matter. Big names haves come down due to...

I came to this quaint little cafe (not very little, since the area was quite decently sized) because I heard a lot of great reviews . The location is close to Starling Mall, that has a Theo's, a Cafe Delhi Heights, there's also a Bistro37 (now Habidade, with a different menu) that does good food, a Yellow Chilli, a DasaPrakash, the Spezia Bistro and many other food franchises and standalone restaurants, that do good food, at good prices.
That is the biggest issue with the Spartows at Home. The menu seems impressive, except that the helpings are rather small, the food quality and taste is mediocre at best, and the prices are disproportionate to both the taste and the quantity.
The place is quite well laid out, with nice wooden furniture and simple sofas. It must be seating a total of 40 people (give or take a few) including 4 people at a bar kind of seating arrangement. The place was almost empty, except for another table which has 2 other people.
I can guess that someone who comes here, doesn't mostly come again. There is almost nothing that outlines the USB of this place. Except a large cafe, with high priced mediocre food, in disappointing portion sizes.
If they didn't own the place, it would have shut down within months of it opening.
Don't go by the ratings. Friends and family have ensured that these guys don't Actually get to...

All it needs, is a soul.
The menu is interesting, with a bunch of different options to suit different tastes. Their kitchen's capabilities are well above average and the execution appears flawless.
The problem is, soul. The food and beverages are technically awesome (design, description, ingredients, plating), seem designed by someone who knows what they're doing... but can't taste or have very different preferences, so every dish is theoretically great, without actually being enjoyable.
So the foods ends up looking great, but without the little bits and pieces of flavour, texture, aroma - imbalance. A bit of salt there, a squirt of lemon here, some quirk there and a bit of more texture here.
What one is ideally looking to create in great food, are complementary ratios, not a perfect balance of the five tastes.
When they conduct taste tests with a varied audience, perhaps the excellent menu will have a human connect.
I will probably revisit, looking for a bit of imbalance in the menu, which is also where I'll find a few spoonfuls of soul.
PS: The service is slow and they let you know that. Given the high quality (ingredients), I was...
