Ashok Meat Wala — Restaurant in Delhi

Location and restaurant:- This place is situated on the opposite side of the derawal market. There is no parking space as it is situated on the residential side of the road and it’s a narrow road. The restaurant itself is parted from a home. Maximum occupancy of 20 people on 5 tables, 4 on each table. The place looks good with the decoration.

Service and food:- When I entered the place the aroma of the food was exceptionally good so we ordered Mutton kebab, Mutton korma and tandoori roti. We were getting served with onions and mint sauce but we had to ask them for water 4-5 times. This was not a rush hour but anyways we ignored the fact. We got served with the kebab in 10-14 minutes and they were delicious but it took about 30 minutes for the korma to be at our table. If you know that korma is something that is cooked before hand and it requires nothing else to serve. The tandoori roti could be the only thing that should have taken time but we waited long. The meat was delicious, tender and the gravy was well cooked, but for the cleanliness the plates were not washed properly, had to take a napkin to clean that and the table crawled with bugs. We cannot ignore the fact of a restaurant not being hygienic. That was a major issue.

Other issues:- There was nothing written about modes of payment and being a running restaurant they take only cash payments and when making payment we were short of few bucks and the owner made a comment and we had to go to an ATM to get cash. This made it clear that how rude one can behave and ruin the whole experience.

As I have gone to eat i have given it 1 star as no option of less then 1 star.

Gone with family always like the mutton here it's one of the best but if you go for dine in the quality of service does matter. I know it's a budget outlet so the service can't be like a boutique restaurant.

But just because the food has excellent taste i will pay and beg for chapati then I do t think anyone will like that.

Ordered for mutton Barra and asked for one lacha parantha, water bottles and water bottle .

Got mutton barra but no onion or parantha or water . Need to take medicine before meal asked again and got water. But no lacha parantha and we have finished mutton bara.

I have ordered for mutton corma also and went to the owner a young guy who said sorry and said he will take care.

But seems when you have good foot fall you can't take care of all clients urself good staff is needed.

There use to be a saying It takes years to built reputation and few wrong doing to lose it ....but seems business owners don't care.

I don't know about everyone alse who. One to this place in my words food served well increase the taste of the food but this has spoiled it.

Never ever coming back to this place and if your going with your wife or family a big no ....

I had heard so much about this place from so many people who recommended it highly every time they spoke of it. However my experience wasn’t that great when I visited there.

Being very cautious about my calories intake, I make sure that each calorie I consume, must be high on taste that must not waste. And for that even if I have to wait for longer, I do.

So one day While I was traveling from Gurgaon to north delhi (35 km) I decided to take a detour and try this highly recommended place for their mutton and chicken curry.

Reached there and ordered chicken curry for my daughter, mutton curry for myself and a paneer dish for my wife. But voila they had not started the preparation of paneer dish. So my wife knowing my food habits decided to wait till I and my daughter finish our meals and then go for another place that serves vegetarian dishes too.

Both the chicken and mutton dishes arrived in no time. And they both looked, smelled, and then tasted exactly the same. A mughlai korma dish very badly prepared in a punjabi style. It was so disappointing to have wasted my calories for such a bad taste and the aftermath was horrible too.
