In 1960, Tom Monaghan and his brother, Jim, took over the operation of DomiNick's, an existing location of a small pizza restaurant chain that had been owned by Dominick DeVarti, at 507 Cross Street (now 301 West Cross Street) in Ypsilanti, Michigan, near Eastern Michigan University. The deal was secured by a $500 down payment, then the brothers borrowed $900 to pay for the store. The brothers planned to split the work hours evenly, but Jim did not want to quit his job as a full-time postman to keep up with the demands of the new business. Within eight months, Jim traded his half of the business to Tom for the Volkswagen Beetle they used for pizza deliveries.
By 1965, Tom Monaghan had purchased two additional pizzerias; he now had a total of three locations in the same county. When I reached home, my family was already eating it and when I ate a slice, it was just regular pizza and not cheese burst. If I had not checked it, my family would have never known. I wonder how many people they have fooled till now. At first they ignored me but when I escalated the issue to Dominos HQ and Global Twitter handle, the manager started apologizing. Dominos worst mistake is hiring Jaat Gurjar managers from UP and they do things as they please. They even threaten the customers. When happened with me was long back but today I remembered and thought of giving a review. I have ordered pizzas from the Dominos(30+ times) near my office (Noida Sector-15) but not even once we faced any issue...
