TW. Horrible experience with staff.
We like the food, but the staff is undertrained and they have major logistical issues.
They never have rasam, what south indian place never has rasam? been there quite a few times and its irritating.. they should just remove it from the menu. You go for lunch dinnner breakfast, its never there.
Last time we went with our almost 80yr old grandma who loves south indian food and it was a nightmare, they denied us water. they said regular water is unavailable because of some RO issue they said bottled water is out of stock they said we can’t bring outside water
A basic necessity such as water is not available and they asked us to buy coke instead, imagine having to face that with your old grandma around, we could’ve had a medical emergency and they didn’t give us water and neither were we allowed to bring our own water.
At this point we decided to cancel our order and leave the restaurant and then the manager magically came with a water jug that had a fishy taste to it, we don’t know what they did.
Afterwards the waiter forgot our whole order and only 1 dosa came for 3 people after 1 person had finished the dosa he was asking us if he should go ahead with the order of the other 2, which was weird because we had already given and confirmed our order.
The person attending to us seemed lost, they definitely need to fix it. They had like 10 people staff around, and even then it...
Read moreDosa Coffee in Model Town 2 offers a decent South Indian experience with a few highs and some clear areas for improvement. The Rava Onion Dosa, Thatte Idli, and Masala Dosa were quite good—flavorful and satisfying. The chutneys ranged from average to good, while the sambhar was unfortunately too sour to truly enjoy.
The filter coffee was a winner—piping hot and authentic. However, the filter coffee served cappuccino-style missed the mark completely, and the chaas was strictly average.
The ambiance is clean and inviting, and the price point is definitely a strong suit—very pocket-friendly for the quality offered. What brings the experience down a notch is the staff’s lack of familiarity with the menu and ingredients, which can be frustrating if you're hoping to ask questions or explore options.
Overall, it’s a decent spot for a quick South Indian bite, especially if you're on a budget and not too fussy about the...
Read moreDosa Coffee in Model Town is a fantastic spot for South Indian snacks, where I had their Filter Coffee and Malkapodi Idli, both of which were absolutely amazing and refreshing; the Filter Coffee was rich, aromatic, and perfectly balanced in strength, while the Malkapodi Idli was soft, well-coated with flavorful podi, and served with delicious chutneys that enhanced the taste; the ambience is simple yet welcoming, with a clean and well-maintained setup that adds to the overall experience; the service was quick and efficient, with the staff ensuring that everything was served fresh and at the right temperature; the quality and hygiene standards were impressive, making it a reliable place for an authentic South Indian experience, and overall, my visit was delightful, with the combination of great food, prompt service, and a comfortable setting making it a must-visit for anyone craving good Filter Coffee and...
