My Maiden Visit to Crowne Plaza Hotel in Okhla, Delhi: A Gastronomic Adventure at the Dilli 6 Food Fest

Stepping into the Crowne Plaza New Delhi Okhla for the first time was an experience I won't soon forget. It wasn't just any visit – I was there to attend the 14th Edition of Dilli 6 at Edesia's Exclusive Food Fest called Daawat-E-Khaas. As a food enthusiast, I was beyond excited to embark on this gastronomic journey through the vibrant streets of Delhi 6.

From February 12th to February 25th, 2024, Edesia, the world cuisine all-day dining restaurant nestled within Crowne Plaza, will transform into a culinary haven celebrating the rich heritage and diverse flavors of Old Delhi. The theme, Daawat-E-Khaas, promised an extraordinary experience, and I was eager to dive in.

As I arrived at Edesia, the ambiance immediately set the tone for the evening. The decor, intricately designed to resemble the streets of Old Delhi, transported me back in time. I could feel the buzz of excitement in the air as fellow food enthusiasts gathered to indulge in an unforgettable dining experience.

The menu was a testament to Delhi's rich history and culinary heritage. Sipping on tantalizing cocktails like the Anarkali Martini and Mohabbat ka Pyala, I felt like royalty. Each sip was a burst of flavor, perfectly complementing the mouthwatering delicacies that followed.

From special bread like biscuit roti to heavenly Daulat ki Chaat, every dish was a masterpiece. Authentic Jama Masjid ke Non-Veg Kabab, savory Parathe Wali Gali offerings, and tantalizing chaat specialties like Chatori Delhi Ka Jayaka left me craving for more. The traditional delicacies, including Biryani by plate, Korma, and Nihari, were a true delight for the senses.

Mr. Shuvendu Banerjee, General Manager of Crowne Plaza New Delhi Okhla, expressed his enthusiasm for hosting such a remarkable event. His passion for celebrating Delhi's culinary culture was evident, and his dedication to providing guests with an immersive experience was commendable.

As I savored each bite and soaked in the ambiance, I couldn't help but appreciate the efforts of the team behind the Dilli 6 Food Fest. Their commitment to authenticity and excellence was reflected in every aspect of the event.

My maiden visit to Crowne Plaza in Okhla, Delhi, for the Dilli 6 Food Fest was truly a gastronomic adventure. It was more than just a meal – it was a journey through the flavors, history, and traditions of Old Delhi. I left Edesia with a full heart and a satisfied palate, eager to return for more culinary experiences in the future.

If you're a food enthusiast looking for an extraordinary dining experience, I highly recommend attending the Dilli 6 Food Fest at Edesia, Crowne Plaza New Delhi Okhla. Trust me, you won't be...

One of the most pathetic experience I had at this so called fine dining restaurant.

Visited there on 11th March'22 for lunch with my clients considering there can be nothing better than Crowne Plaza.

Ordered Mutton Rogan Josh, Hara bhara kebab, Non-Veg platter, Paneer Pasanda all of which were recommended by the attendent.

The food arrived in slots although we had asked for the food to be delivered on time and all together at once as we had to rush for another meeting.

Harabhara Kebab: the well Hara bhara doesn't means just peas. Well they literally served green peas tikki under the name of Hara Bhara Kebab.

Mutton Roghan Josh: well even the dhabas serve better mutton Roghan Josh then what was served to us. We has specifically asked the attendent to suggest us something on the spicier side and all he got was meat cooked in onion gravy and curd base with fade taste.

Non-Veg Platter: Well the Non-Veg platter was good but could have been better.

Paneer Pasanda: Guys we all know what Paneer Pasanda is its mot just paneer cubes cooked in some rich gravy, its way beyond that (stuffed paneer cubes).

Now coming to the service part.

Well at times when the food is not good, the service compensates with the food. I specifically notices that despite the resturant being not much crowded our table was not attended in a timely manner. We had to wait for the breads to arrive. The attendant once gone would not even return back to ask us if we needed something else.

But not all things are bad. Saw a specially abled gentelman with a turban who was voiceless and yet he understood what Hospitality means better than the ones who could hear and speak.

Would not recommend this place specially for the price they charge for the food. Instead visit a normal dhaba or a restaurant and you will have a good experience. Would never recommend this place to my...

Edesia, the buffet restaurant at Crowne Plaza Hotel Okhla, offers an impressive dining experience with a wide variety of options and excellent service.

The breakfast buffet is noteworthy, featuring an extensive selection of dishes to suit diverse tastes. Guests can enjoy freshly brewed masala tea, a live station serving made-to-order dosas and eggs, and a tempting assortment of pastries. However, one area for improvement is the storage of dairy products—milk and yogurt are not placed on ice, which raises some concerns about freshness.

The dinner buffet is equally remarkable, not just for the food but also for the outstanding hospitality. The restaurant manager and chef take the time to personally introduce the dishes, adding a thoughtful touch to the dining experience. The food presentation is exceptional, with dishes beautifully arranged in heated containers, reflecting the chef’s attention to detail. The selection includes a variety of flavorful kebabs and authentic Indian dishes, such as rich and aromatic chicken curry and tender lamb curry. Additionally, there is a live station where guests can customize their own fried rice and noodles, prepared fresh to order. You can also request freshly made naan, ensuring a warm and soft accompaniment to your meal.

To round off the experience, the buffet features a teppanyaki ice cream station, where ice cream is freshly mixed and customized with various toppings on a frozen surface—an interactive and delightful way to end the meal.

Overall, Edesia provides a delightful buffet experience with high-quality food, excellent service, and a variety of options, making it a great choice for both...

I really wish if I could give negative rating to this restaurant. BTW I stayed in the same hotel where this restaurant is located. Day 1 - Evening, I had no other choice but to opt for this restaurant for dinner as there are ZERO options in this locality. Buffet was priced at 2399+ taxes (my stay for one night was around 10k including all. Any sense to pay 30% of ur stay for a single meal? Finally I ordered pasta which is not even worth mentioning here. Day 2 - Morning, complementary breakfast. Just for the sake of having it I had. I tried tea, it was way too bitter. Coffee Latte, didn't taste like Latte. Day 2 - Evening, I made sure to have my dinner somewhere out before I returned to hotel. Day 3 - Morning, breakfast same story. Idli, sambar is basic for a road side joint as well, but this restaurant doesn't even know how to cook it. Coconut chutney was only coconut paste. Today I opted for cappuccino, it almost tasted like yesterday Latte tasted. Don't doubt my taste buds here, cause all other meals at Nehru Place, Chandni Chowk etc were way more satisfying. I won't recommend this to anyone.
