Nice but very expensive. May be few people not agree with my comment, but trust me you can easily buy better quality sweets with more purity in less price from Garg sweets sector 7 or Punjab sweets. Gulab sweets was a quality once upon a time, now they only sell brand value and name on high price. Trust me am a big fan of sweets I don't felt anything special except costly packing and glamorous outlet. Staff is very rude they behave like you are begging from them. All am cutting long thing into short they not treat customer like a customer. They make you feel if you want to buy you can come else they don't care. Am living in rohini since 1996. Trust me once buy any sweet from Garg sweets or Punjab sweets and compare with Gulab sweets. And one more last thing that i needs to mention here. One of Gulab sweets worker(ex halwai) he was from Madhya Pradesh(MP) now a cab driver in my company. Once he gave me a chance to visit manufacturing outlet in Rithala village trust me guys you will stop eating sweets from these big brands after seeing this. Old sweets mixed up with fresh sweets and again displayed on outlet. They don't waste their old stuff, I saw with my eyes how old milkcake and other khota stuff was mixed with new one these all things happens during festive seasons especially on Diwali or holi. I saw this incident on Diwali. Since then i never buy sweets from big big outlets. My last but not least suggetion and observation is neither go with huge big brands nor go with so local and small shops (in cities) go with some normal, reputed and middle type sweet shops you will get better quality, price and taste. Yes small shops in villages or small towns definitely offer better quality...
Read moreA costly mithai (Indian sweets) shop on the main road.
Goods : 1)One generally gets good quality sweets. 2)One can ask for sweets in bulk, with a good looking packing if the boxes.3)A very big brand. 4)People can sit and eat.
Bads:
Arrogant staff (The staff knows that Gulab is a big brand)
Never lets you taste a sweet before purchase (Purchase it or leave)
Very costly, almost double than the market.
As the brand is famous, a lot of customers usually visit the store which creates a lot of car parking issue as the store is on the main road and no parking space at all. One usually finds a traffic jam in Fron of the store. I sincerely believe that it is the store owner's ( Here its Gulab's Management) responsibility to provide enough parking guards on the main road to make the commuters travel least difficult as possible. Or the Traffic police should challan the management for the same.
Last year I purchased almost 7 box ghevar, 1kg each (Two days before teej) to gift it to our reletives and one for our self consumption, as there was huge rush so was the demand.
On actual consumption of the Ghevar at home I found it one of the most pathetic Ghevars I ever had. The bread of the ghevar was very hard (Should be highly spongy instead) and was dripping in Chashni as if some amateur chef has made it and was dark brown as burnt.
On making a complaint at the store the staff refused to admit the fault at first, but the management agreed later that its there product, however they clarified that one should expect such quality due to huge rush and high work pressure on our staff due to festive season. (Well that was the most ridiculously honest reasons of providing a...
