Kallu Nihari — Restaurant in Delhi

A one and only place on planet Earth to taste authentic Mughlai Nahari. No words can ever describe the mouth watering taste of dilli wali Nahari that one gets here. Faizan, the owner, a very humble and gem of a person respects the tradition and value of serving such delicacy to his customers. A visit to this place is a must, just to watch the way how Nahari is sold here. Everytime I have been here, I have witnessed more than 30-40 customers with money in their hand shouting on top of their voices towards Faizan just to get a small portion of Nahari and Naan. In this age of cut throat competition to woo customers, it is hard to believe that at least at one shop - Seller is the KING. So, all the Management gurus out there, this place defies all your marketing concepts. Daily around 5 pm the place starts selling 70 kilos of Nahari which gets sold out in less than 40 minutes. Nalli nihari: 10/10 Value for money: 10/10 Eating area: 5/10

We came to Kallu Nihari after googling for old places to eat nihari. Looking at the online reviews, we had high expectations. And this place is totally worth the hype. The nalli nihari was extremely delicious and melted in the mouth. To get nalli, one needs to reach at the time of opening of the pot. Once the pot is opened, within 10 mins the nalli gets over but one can get nihari for 1-1.5 hrs. We reached at 5 and at 5:30 PM they opened the pot. We took a 200 Rs per person plate containing nalli nihali with 2 rotis. The quantity was more than enough. If you are not seriously hungry then better take 150/person plate. Even with so much crowd, the staff was gently serving the customers. Even the customers were well behaved with each other. Having tried nihari at Shabrati, haaji noora and Javed, famed Kallu nihari had been eluding from my list for a long time. Kallu has been serving nihari for many years and has gained reputation as one of the best places to try nihari in Delhi. Mcd parking is easily available in front of delight cinema. Its an easy 5 minutes walk through the bustling lanes of old delhi.

the locals are friendly and helpful, and you can always ask for directions. We reached by 4:45 pm , the place was deserted. Lull before the storm. Crowd had started to form at 5:05 pm. Deg was opened at 5:15 pm. We were told it gets over in an hour. We were the first in line to be served. They have an adjacent shop with sitting and standing tables. I must say that the nihari matches the hype.

Nihari is mind blowing, and the atmosphere is authentic and unpretentious. Just be prepared to brave the crowd at Kallu to lay your hands on...
