I recently visited this restaurant again and this had been a favorite of mine in the past, but my recent experience left me quite disappointed. I had ordered their signature dishes, the kizhi porota beef and kizhi porota chicken, which I had previously enjoyed on multiple occasions. However, this time around, both dishes fell far below my expectations.
The kizhi porota chicken, sadly, lacked any resemblance to its true flavors. It failed to capture the authentic taste that had once delighted my palate. it didn't even taste like chicken at all. The disappointment grew even more pronounced when I sampled the kizhi porota beef. Its flavor was completely off, deviating from the deliciousness I had come to associate with it.
As someone who had considered this restaurant a go-to spot for delicious meals, it was disheartening to experience such a decline in quality. The fact that their dishes, which used to be exceptional, now failed to meet even the most basic expectations left me saddened.
I believe it is important for businesses to be aware of customer feedback, so I did share my experience with the restaurant management. I hope they take this feedback constructively and make necessary improvements to regain their reputation for serving delicious food.
It's unfortunate when a once-beloved restaurant loses its touch, but I remain hopeful that they will address the issues and restore the charm that made them a favorite dining...
Read moreWe ordered food from this restaurant through zomato one biriyani and one fish fry.. No complaints on biriyani. But the fish fry costing 310 was very worthless. The quantity was very small and so we gave feedback through zomato by giving a 1 rating. As we have been to the restaurant and also knowing that the owner is a malayali for ease of communication we called the restaurant directly and gave the feedback. One of the person who attended the call agreed that the quantity was less and will replace the dish for us. Please note we made a call from one of a girl in our group as she speaks malayalam too. In between their conversation another restaurant guy came on line and said as you have already given rating in zomato we can't do anything about it you do whatever you want. He was very rude to her and hung up the phone. We wanted to complaint but as it was already late we started taking food. Meanwhile within a span of 15 mins the girl started getting whatsApp messages and calls from random unknown numbers. As it was pretty annoying to keep blocking different numbers we made a call back and on threatening to file a complaint we learnt that the girl's number was published on FB in a fake profile with very vulgar comments and photos. Without any further explanation I hope people reading this will understand the quality and humanity of the restaurant people as...
Read moreI ordered two Onam Sadhya for a total of ₹1688/-. When the food was delivered, the experience was extremely disappointing. • The delivery bag was torn, and the restaurant had poorly packed the food. • Even worse, they delivered only one Sadhya while attaching a bill for two Sadhyas. • This is not the first time such an issue has happened with this restaurant. On earlier occasions too, they either sent fewer items or missed complete meals. When I asked them to resend, they failed to do so. • For one Sadhya, they charged over ₹700, and it is shocking that they do not even provide the full set of items that are part of a proper Sadhya.
This kind of negligence and repeated mistakes show clear lack of professionalism. It feels like fraud to charge customers fully and then deliver less. As a Malayali, I find this a blemish on the authenticity of Onam Sadhya and on the trust people place in such restaurants.
I have taken a video as proof of how the food was delivered and have already rejected the order and registered a complaint.
Mariyan Restaurant should be held accountable and ideally blacklisted from Zomato until they ensure fair, transparent, and...
