Maujpur is an area where you rarely get some good dining options, especially for veg food. But my opinion has changed after my visit to Mayur's Urban Spices.
The first dish of the day was Dahi Ke Sholey. Instead of the usual melt-in-mouth texture, what you get is a Crispy shell which is filled with hung curd and finely chopped veggies. The mixture is well made and the portion size is decent. Then, I also ordered White Sauce Pasta. This was the highlight of my meal. Prepared with in-house special white sauce which has its own unique flavor.
In frinks, there was first Orange Mojito. I am usually a Virgin Mojito person but this time I thought of trying something different. And i was not disappointed. With the usual lime and soda, there was a nice fizz of an orange drinks. To spice up the drinks experience, I also ordered Charge Me, a mocktail that has the kick of Redbull in it. Order a glass and you'll be refreshed for the day.
In mains, there were the usual suspects - Dal Makhani and Paneer Butter Masala. Dal Makhani was quite different and had a good smoky flavor to it. I paired that with Garlic Naan and was good to go. The Paneer Butter Masala was was quite generously served. It's rich and thick gravy was a perfect sidekick for Dal. I had that with Stuffed Naan.
Overall, a big thumbs up to this cafe from my end. Will sure recommend this place to everyone. Go and...
Read moreVisited on a busy Sunday evening, and we had already booked a table for 17-18 people. The service was a bit slow due to the crowd, with tables packed closely together and a noticeable rush, making this place a popular choice in the neighborhood.
I found the ambiance to be bright and cozy, ideal for a relaxed meal, and the washroom was clean. We sampled a variety of dishes, including Afghani Paneer Tikka, Dal Makhni, Kadhai Paneer, Shahi Paneer, Aloo Naan, Mix Sauce Pasta, Veg Chowmein, Chili Garlic Noodles, and Veg Burgers. For a group, this place is relatively pocket-friendly, offering a range of choices, but overall, it is somewhat pricey given the service and taste. One cannot judge solely based on ambiance; taste and service are also important factors.
The food quality was slightly above average but not exceptional, the Mix Sauce Pasta, though good, did not stand out. The chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream was neither particularly good nor freshly served.
One more important point, before 8pm parking is a big issue and their is no wheelchair accessiblity, which is a concern.
Overall, considering the price and ambiance, the experience was worth the money if going with groups but for a solo or duo meal,...
Read moreI recently had the misfortune of dining in this restaurant, and it was undoubtedly the most dreadful restaurant experience I've ever had. The sheer incompetence and lack of attention to detail left me stunned.I placed an order for three plates of the Mayur Special Thali, expecting a satisfying meal. However, what I received was nothing short of a comedy of errors. Instead of the three identical plates I ordered, I was presented with only two plates, and to make matters worse, they were two different types of thalis - the Mayur Special and the Exclusive Thali. The fact that they couldn't even get the order right is a testament to the restaurant's lack of professionalism and care for their customers. It's not just about the food; it's about the experience and the service that comes with it. They failed miserably on both counts.I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone and would advise others to steer clear of it. Until they can get their act together and provide a decent dining experience, it's best to avoid...
