I have visited the place personally. Pathetic place , horrible food. The meat served is not fresh but refrigerated and added to instantly made gravy. I can say that with surety as I'm myself a Kashmiri and have been used to having these dishes since childhood... So make a note of the food freshness for sure. The rice served was low in quality; parmal rice was served. In J&K basmati is served always with Wazwan dishes. The place is dirty and full of dust as if not been cleaned for weeks. The pictures that have been shared in other reviews must have been when the restaurant was opened or some youtuber / blogger visiting. The place had Non AC even in Apr-May. I had visited their Zakir Nagar restaurant somewhere in May 2024; which I heard has now been permanently closed from there and has reopened somewhere in South Delhi.
If you really want to taste good Kashmiri food in Delhi, visit Ladakh Bhawan / Kashmir House on Kautlaya Marg, Chanakyapuri. Both Ladakh Bhawan and Kashmir House are in the same boundary wall, together. Both restaurants are in opposite blocks in the same boundary area and both serve authentic Kashmiri cuisine. Even the menu prices are better. Even if you search in google for Kashmiri wazwan.... It'll recommend Ladakh Bhawan & Kashmir House. Besides when there was no Kashmiri Resturant in Delhi NCR, Kashmir House in Chanakyapuri was the only place. It has been serving Kashmiri Wazwan for more than 3 decades now.
I'm sure that there must be many more Kashmiri Resturants in Delhi NCR also.
Besides I request not to go by just my review only, check other customers reviews and experiences who have visited them as a reference point given by multiple people in the...
Read moreHideout Cafe is a small, unassuming restaurant tucked away in the gulleys of Zakir Nagar. It's the kind of place you'd stumble upon by chance, and be pleasantly surprised by what you find.
The restaurant itself is clean and well-maintained, but it could do with a bit more attention to detail. The AC was out of service on my visit, and the sitting area was a bit cramped.
However, the food more than makes up for any shortcomings. The Kashmiri cuisine at Hideout Cafe is better what I've had outside of Kashmir itself. The spices are well-mixed, and the flavors are authentic.
I particularly enjoyed their Rista, which was rich and flavorful, the Rogan josh was average not what it should be.
I would definitely recommend Hideout Cafe to anyone looking for a good Kashmiri meal in Delhi. The restaurant is mostly empty i guess so you can try it out...
