Malvani Chamchamit — Restaurant in Dombivali

Tucked in a corner of Tilak road this place is surely going to tingle your tastebuds if you love the Konkan style cuisine. The coastal flavours of Maharashtra comes alive even as you pass by this place. The tantalising aromas fill your nostrils and before you know your mouth starts watering.

I have been here quite many times both for dining as well as takeaways. Though it's a modest place with small seating capacity i would say if you are sea food lover then your focus would be on the plate rather than the ambience (which is not so much so to say). They serve chicken as well in malvani style. Sukka variety is my favourite be it Chicken sukka or prawns or tisrya (clams) you will certainly relish it. The curries which comes in taat (plate) did not much appeal to me. Maybe because I have tasted better curries. Solkadi the pink liquid is to die for and I am sure you will end up ordering more.

The best option is to order thali or taat (platter Meal). This will get you all varieties plus the bread options are varied, like amboli or wada (Puri like not the bata wada!) Or bhakri and if you are unsure then go for chapati.

Out of fish fries i personally prefer bombil (Bombay duck) and surmai (seer fish).

Good place to have malavani/kokani authentic food in dombivli. There so few of them anyway. It's a treat for seafood lovers. Since I'm a kokani, I'm very selective when it comes to seafood. I rarely eat seafood in dombivli or at any place other than my native. As I'm always skeptical about it and afraid of ending up disappointed. But since my girlfriend (yes, she's real!) insitest a couple of times. We went there and had following items. 1 piece of surmai tava fry of each of us 1 prawns thali for her 1 chicken sukka thali for me And some extra sol kadis Loved surmai fry. It was really fresh, big and preparation was up to the mark as well. Prawns thali was good but she didn't like the quantity. Chicken sukka thali was a pleasant surprise. Quantity was good and chicken was delicious. Little heavier on pocket but yeah definitely a must try restaurant. It's a tiny place behind Tilak putala. interior is cute and you'll definitely enjoy the food. My recommendations: surmai tava fry and chicken...

This place is heaven for non-vegetarian food lovers. Fish thaali is the best of the best. Fresh fish fry and curry along with bhakri is just blissful. We tried the surmai (mackerel) and the paplet (pomfret) thali, both were awesome 😋. Also, sol kadhi is a 5-star, highly recommended.

The owner and staff make you feel at home and service is great. The place is 8 to 10 min walking from Dombivli station.

This place is very popular and at peak times, there will be a waiting time of around 15-20 minutes. Nearby parking available as per Odd-even parking or pay and park available at PP chambers.
