I recently dined at Peep Kitchen and ordered the chicken cafreal. The food was decent, but I had some reservations about the dish. The chicken and gravy seemed to be prepared separately, which was a departure from my expectations. Typically, chicken cafreal involves cooking the chicken in the flavorful gravy, but here, they served the gravy on the side. While the gravy itself was delicious, the chicken lacked the expected seasoning and taste.
I was disappointed as the authentic cafreal taste was missing from the dish. On the positive side, the restaurant is quite spacious and boasts a warm ambiance. It's obviously a hit with local families, given the crowd. The staff, however, were a standout highlight. They were incredibly professional, courteous, and helpful throughout my visit.
In the end, Peep Kitchen left me with mixed feelings. The lackluster chicken cafreal was a letdown, but the inviting atmosphere and excellent staff almost made up for it. It's possible that other dishes on their menu might fare better, so I wouldn't entirely rule out a return visit to give them another chance.
Overall, Peep Kitchen has potential, and with some improvements to their dishes, it could truly shine as a culinary...
Read moreWent for an early lunch Sunday afternoon. Been going here regularly over the years. While they have generally maintained a good standard over the years, (especially in this new location), the rates have risen very significantly over this period. It is now more akin to a 'Fine dine' restaurant. Note that the menu is 'blind' on rates for fish & Seafood items, so do ask the steward before ordering. Drinks: Ordered the 'Watermelon Margarita' cocktail, & the Virgin Mojito mocktail - both were very disappointing & not VFM!. The Cocktail had no alcohol taste & the cocktail glass was over-filled with ice cubes, leaving minimal quantity of the actual drink to taste. Felt more like an 'ice-cube' cocktail!. The Mocktail - glass half filled - was okay. Fortunately, the chilled beer saved the day! I strongly feel the Barmen need to be RE-TRAINED to first concentrate on Customer satisfaction, not on Beverage costing!! Snacks: Bombay duck masala rava fried (Rs 450) & Velho rave fried (Rs 300) - both good. Entrée: Chonak fish thali (Rs 450 !), & mackerel rava fried (Rs 380). While the Beverages left us disappointed & feeling short changed, the food was good in both presentation & taste. Its a good restaurant for...
Read moreI recently visited this restaurant and had a wonderful overall experience. The place offers a great variety of seafood dishes, making it a must-visit for seafood lovers. However, the options for vegetarians are limited, and adding a few more vegetarian choices to the menu would definitely make the dining experience even better and more inclusive.
The ambience of the restaurant is very pleasant, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that sets the right mood for dining. It feels classy yet comfortable, making it suitable for both families and friends. Though the prices are on the higher side, with discounts available through Swiggy and Zomato, the bill becomes more reasonable and fits better into the pocket.
We tried the sangria, which was very well prepared and refreshing. The food quantity served is sufficient for two people, and the taste was satisfying. The staff deserves a special mention for being polite, attentive, and even kids-friendly, which made the visit more enjoyable and hassle-free.
A useful tip for visitors: the restaurant closes at 3:00 PM and reopens at 7:00 PM. So, if planning for lunch, it’s better to reach by 2:30 PM at the latest. Overall, a...
