Alex Place Beach Shack — Restaurant in Goa

Very bad experience, infact I would say the worst ever experience with the lady owner this evening. We keep visiting various beach shacks almost every alternate day during our 2-4 month stay in winters in Goa right from Northernmost Tirakhol beach till the Southernmost Ka-Go beach. The Alex Beach Shack on Gonsua Beach turned out to be the worst ever in our nearly 20 yrs of Goa visits. Last month, they were overcharging despite price mentioned in the menu but today the lady owner was abusive & racial towards Indians pointing that they are using beach beds, towels & shower, as if these are prohibited by them for Indians & allowed for foreigners only. She was non accomodating, continuously taunting making faces & abusing Indians and despite our polite request & intervention, was unrelenting. Shameful & unwarranted totally. Moreover, they were least bothered from dogs eating from guest tables, as the food was left untouched by few & when brought to their notice none of the staff was interested as all were glued to their mobiles. Despite ordering food & snacks during lunch & and telling them that we plan to stay till dinner, their behaviour was indifferent and grossly wrong. Very rude behaviour! The owner doesn't seem to have any empathy toward his customers. We were very polite and waited for 50 minutes for our food to arrive. We just checked with him if it's gonna take time as we had a flight to catch and his response was "You are not special. You will get your food, wait if you want or else leave". So we cancelled our orders and when we were about to leave, he brought us one of the foods we ordered. We paid for that and did not even touch that food. It was a fun day and this kind of ruined our mood. We were absolutely polite and in turn all we faced was disrespect. The employees were very polite but I wouldn't say the same about the owner. I know customers can be tough sometimes but I promise, this time, the owner was absolutely rude for no good reason. First place when entering the beach from Diwa club. Decent prices on drinks compared to the resorts.

Has an outdoor shower as well as toilet

Serves food which looked good but we did not order. (we had just eaten).

Has approximately 8 tables under tent as well as 20+ beach umbrellas with seating.

Not the friendliest staff, seemed they were not happy we were not eating and only drinking. We were 2 of only 8 people in the area, so we weren't taking spaces away from anyone.

Staff ignored locals who where trying to order and didn't do much better when dealing with us.
