CAMRON BEACH SHACK — Restaurant in Goa

One of the worst experiences in terms of hospitality in the land of tourism.

Food was blah...Not worth the prices. Except for the location there is nothing this place has to offer.

Happened to order a dish, was charged two times the amount because they added some topical fruits. When questioned why weren't we asked and charged more than the menu prices, we were questioned why did you ask.

Ordered fish and chips again not on menu, Charged me 650. This was the most expensive dish even higher than a beef steak. Fish fingers were 300-350. Ridiculous cheating.

Ordered a beef sizzler, super salty didn't complain asi thought the owners are over burdened with orders.

Prawns Balchoa was ordered only after thorough questioning as we were looking for something authentic, we were served a prawn curry which was in all probability a duplicate prawn sorpotel curry.

Golden fried prawns, probably fried prawn bhajia. Bad.

Staff is short, owners not hospitable, in all probability the cook has quit and the business is trying to do with what's available.

They can cheat the non goans this way but not goans.

P.S. the owners tried to speak about us in konkani and only stopped when they realised we are goans ourselves.

Once again you will realise how rude the owner is by their response...

This Beach Shack is properly located at Majorda Beach , however we did have very good experience at lunch but in same while we tried dinner , we had a horrible experience in terms of food taste and preparation

We ordered

Pork BBQ: Pork were not fresh and possibly it might be the case it was not pork. Tastes awful , they served the porks in very thick BBQ garnishing which is not the actual preparation

Chilly Chicken : They served us smashed chicken gravy which might be another dish but not chilly chicken. It's far from chinese preparation and not at al properly made.

Chicken Sizzler Platter: This is the worst sizzler we ever had, normal jeera rice was given and that too separately and sizzler chicken steak rotten , a huge setback for us , we couldn't eat this completely

Our only fault was we didn't tell them to change the food immediately which we should actually.

When we escalated the matter to the person in charge they were denying at first but later they agreed that the cook got changed and thus this whole mess happened. But clearly it looks like for dinner they were very reluctant to serve people

The second visit to the restaurant was disappointing, despite the previous positive experience. Earlier the male boss was really friendly and kind. Service was a little poor back then, and it's even worse now. I could see they were very hospitable to foreigners and treated Indians and local Goans as if they didn't exist. The boss lady/female who sits at the counter was quite rude. We had family with elderly members and asked her to set up several extra chairs. She argued initially, shook her head, ignored, and didn't bother to inform any server. We waited pretty long time for someone to make the arrangements, but eventually did it on our own. On the other hand, we could see serving staff rushing behind foreign clients to service. Again, following the chair scenario, no one showed up to take orders for about 45 minutes. We returned to the counter to place one. Horrible horrible service and the place was not even crowded for the servers to be busy. For some reason, the male boss this time was quiet and did not provide much assistance. The restaurant needs to improve its service and be more respectful...
